My lo was breech and I did not get an evc because they thought it wouldn't work so idk how helpful this is. She was frank breech and her butt was stuck in my pelvis. My dr said they lift up her butt and push down on her head so your lo being high might help. They also said frank breech is the hardest to turn. Additionally, they said you have a much better success rate if you're a second or third time mom because your uterus is stretchy. Best of luck!

I went in for an ECV at 37.5ish weeks. They wouldn't do it on me since I was transverse oblique breech. Meaning he's completely sideways with his head a little bit heads up near my left rib and his feel near my right hip.

They definitely don't do rotations with transverse babies because first... it makes it more difficult to push the baby around and it's likely they will turn back that position even if they were successful. Since they have so much room to be sideways in the first place. So I was sent home.

I was scheduled for a csection for 39 weeks but they preformed the ECV right before I was suppose to have the csection.

It worked! It didn't hurt at all. I didn't even have the drug they normally give you to loosen you up because if it didn't work I would have to go in for my csection that had it's own set of drugs I would need and they didn't want the drugs to interfere with each other.

They induced labor right away so he wouldn't flip back.

I still had an emergency csetion after 24 hours of being induced because he was having heart rate issues during my contractions. It was what it was.

Edit : Some scary stuff happened to me during this birth but I don't think it was because of the ECV.

It was my second kid so maybe why it didn't hurt? Lots of room!

My BFF had one at 37 weeks. No epidural. She said it wasn't too bad. It worked and she had a normal delivery a few weeks later.

A was breech and I turned down the ECV because I was scared about the possibility of having an emergency c-section if it went wrong. She never turned and I had a planned c-section after my due date. I would make the same decision if I went through it again.

My best friend just went through this a month ago. She ultimately declined the ECV and had an uneventful planned c-section at 39.5 weeks (they did an ultrasound the day of delivery and baby was still breech).

Miss A flipped herself breech at 34 weeks and was turned back by ECV at 38-ish weeks and it turned out to be a complete non-event! The actual ECV itself literally took less than thirty seconds to do and I didn't experience any pain.

I chose to do the ECV as the risk rate at the hospital I went to was only 0.05%, which I considered very low risk considering my only alternative was a scheduled c-section. I was required to fast from midnight (8am appointment) and after thirty minutes of foetal monitoring I was given Ventolin through an IV before being tipped slightly backwards and the ECV started. We then did another thirty minutes of monitoring before being sent home.

My OB reiterated to me that I was in charge and they could stop anytime I asked them to, and the ECV took place in the labour ward in case of an emergency.

@lovehoneybee: I haven't had one, but want to remind you that this baby flipped on her own between 32 and 34 weeks, so I'm still hoping for that for you! And wondering if you are open to acupuncture before the ecv? My friend had good luck with that and her baby had been head up for weeks, she thinks.

In the meantime keep on doing your inversions like a crazy lady.
