What would your LO be named?
I'm (mostly) sure it's just a running joke at this point, but DH kept begging me to name DS Merlin Batman. I really think he might have gone for it if I'd okayed it!

As of today (it's always changing!) a girl would be Kate and a boy would be Felix. Felix sort of came out of left field the other day, so I'm still warming up to it!

There was only one name he really loved: "Van".
While I like it, it sounds reeeally stupid with our last name.
For a girl he liked "Nicole". I like it, too, but when we were first dating he introduced me to his pretty friend Nicole. Nicole had just got a tattoo just above her pubic line and was showing everyone. I will always think of this Nicole when it comes to DH, so no. Nicole was not an option had DS been a girl.

If it's a boy he wants him to have his name.
For a girl I have no clue what he would name her. He doesn't indulge me

Jenkins for a boy. Ummm no. We had a son and that is not his name lol.
Caylee for a girl. He still loves this name so much for some reason. Ita kinda cute how much he loves it. Its just not my style and.it will always remind me of casey Anthony.

@twodoghouse: I like Felix!
And he would have been named Maverick. Nope.

Banana. He never told me any serious names that he loves....
bananas / 9973 posts
@rachiecakes: ummm,, yup, no way could you name a DD Nicole after that!
DH's name picks were horrid for a girl. They were all a variation of his own name. Think a very masculine name, with an "a", "ona", "ina", "ada" on the end. Ewww. Of course if we had a DS - he just wanted a Junior after himself.

I haven't a clue what he'd pick for a boy, but a girl he'd look at the top 20 names and pick something like Amelia or Olivia.

@FutureMrsMcK: we actually talking about Merlin or Marlin for a while!
His joke name was Fisher Hunter Last Name (which ends in -er)

That's a silly name: it should obviously have been "Batman Merlin".
And, fortunately, DW and I agreed on a shortlist of names with no really strange entries.

@apis: Ha, he liked Merlin Batman because then DS would have been Merlin McK--he liked the double-Ms!
kiwi / 575 posts
@futuremrsmck: I'm still hoping that if I can spend enough quality time with my LO, his first words will be "I'm Batman". (I may have forgotten to mention this to DW.)

He wants MacKenzie, Kya, or Mira. I don't hate any of them but I'm not in love either.
honeydew / 7586 posts
DH had his heart set on Brady. It wasn't my top choice but I liked it so that is what we are going with!

Ava. I do love the name, but its popularity is what made us choose another name.
watermelon / 14467 posts
Gyrinophilus. My reaction was pretty much "HELL NO."
Our chosen names are James Michael and Hyla Sophia. Now we just wait to find out what we're having!

Kelly for a girl, William for a boy... Not terrible, but I struggle with Kelly as a first name & William because of how popular it is.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@AprilK: does he watch The Walking Dead?
DH would have Skylar for a girl and Matthew for a boy.
Our LO will be neither of those.

@twodoghouse: I actually love Felix!
DH favored VERY Italian names. He loved Adrianna but he said that, in the end, it was too much of a Sopranos reference.

@MrsTiz: no, I don't think so... Plus DS is a little over 2, don't think the show was on when we were thinking up names?

If LO turns out to be a boy and DH gets his way, his name would be Colby Jack. Like the cheese.

Laural for a girl. I actually love the name Laural but we know a woman with that name and she's totally ruined it for me. If she wasn't such a mega bitch it wouldn't be a big deal but unfortunately (for everyone) she is.
Kale or Landon for a boy. I hate the name Kale. It's a vegetable, not a name. I don't actually mind Landon, there are just names that I like better.

DH LOVED Tinslee for a girl. Not sure where in the world he got that. I hated it!
He actually got his boy name for our baby... We agreed on it almost immediately, so it wasn't hard! Our runner up boy name was Brooks.

Her first name would be the same, but her middle name would be Hurricane.
Which is kind of awesome. Kennedy Hurricane - she'd be so cool.

DH loooves Jaxon/Jackson - he pushed for it over and over! He tried to get people to tell me how much they loved the name thinking I'd like it more that way lol. He wanted Kelsey for a girl.

@Ash: all I can picture is dollar bills! DH likes Johnny cash but that's not my first association
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
He really wanted twins to name megatron and Optimus prime.
For our second, he was a little more serious and wanted Zenobia.

@FutureMrsMcK: omg. Batman was Mr. Cowboy's joke (but not really a joke) name for lil' CB...He kept talking about how cool it would be for CB to introduce himself in the gravelly Dark Knight voice and say, "I'm Batman." Uh, no.
His other serious top choices were Nathan and Joshua...both lovely names, but too common for me.

DH really likes Jason. I don't have any problem with it, and it sounds good with our last name, but I just don't love it. He also always wanted to name a baby Wrigley (big Chicago Cubs fan) which I actually might have done, but we decided we will name our next dog that. Riggs is a great nickname but it would be annoying with the spelling (Wrigs?).
We are usually on roughly the same page, name wise.

He wanted his name for a boy, but it will never happen. For a girl, probably estefani, the Spanish version of his mum's name.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
DH liked Kendall for a girl but I couldnt' name my girl a Kardashian name even though I do like the name. Boy name we agreed on right away.
GOLD / papaya / 10206 posts
He never liked anything, never had a suggestion but constantly vetoed my choices. So I just decided on her name and stopped giving him options. I guess if it were up to him, she would have been baby no-name.
bananas / 9899 posts
Luckily my DH and I agree on boys names, but he doesn't like my first choice for a girl's name. He doesn't have any suggestions though!
