I'm not positive it is eczema but LO's (she is 14 months)back looks a little dry and rashy.
If your LO has eczema or dry skin...how often do they get baths?

I'm not sure if the rash on my DS's face is eczema or not but he gets a bath every night because I think it gets worse if he doesn't. We use the mustela eczema cream wash and it has done wonders with his skin. Pricey but a little goes a LONG way!

I am thinking DS has eczema but not sure either. He has a bath every night because it's part of his routine and won't go to sleep with out it
Pediatrician recommended using coconut oil, so I'm going to try that.

My DD has pretty bad eczema. We give her a bath every other day and only use soap on her hair and bottom (not on her body). I'm also using coconut oil on her face and body. It hasn't gone away completely but it's much better. Wish it would go away completely though!

DS 5, so his skin is a little different. But, he does have eczema, and his dr told me just to make sure he dries off really well after the bath, before putting clothes on, and to use his eczema cream right afterwards.
Also, he has to use Aveeno products (or something equally sensitive) for baths.

He gets a bath every other night and we use all Aveeno products now. We also use an oatmeal packet in his bath once every 2-3 weeks. Coconut oil didn't do much for him so now we are using Aquaphor with pretty good results. His doctor said to use hydrocortisone cream on the really dry spots and that helps a lot, but I try to use it only when it gets really bad.

My son had pretty bad eczema starting when he was 3 months old. Our friend is a leading dermatologist (whose own kid had eczema) and he told us not to bathe him daily, to keep baths short and use tepid water. He recommended Cetaphil Restoraderm lotion and body wash and it helped tremendously (pediatrician recommended aquaphor but it didn't help AT ALL. Just made us both hot and sticky). Now that he is crawling everywhere we bathe him daily, but keep it pretty short.
He (dermatologist) said aveeno is awful for babies with sensitive or atopic skin because it has fragrance. He said to use fragrance free products only. He also blasted dreft detergent.

Interestingly our pediatrician (who is also working on a derm specialization) said that it is better to bathe our eczema-ridden gals every day. To use soap free cleansers (like cetaphil) and slather on good ol' vaseline after.
Now, we don't do that. But that's just cause a daily bath is too much for us. So we do every other day, and we do slather in vaseline after to trap the moisture.
He also suggested avoiding smelly anything and using a gentle laundry detergent.

DS has eczema and we found it wasn't how frequently we bathe (we choose to do it daily) but the products we use. We have had the most success with Dove, Cetaphil, and Neosporin Eczema Essentials.

S had pretty bad eczema, we found bathing 2-3 times per week, applying a thick cream every night, and avoiding any scents helped a lot. We did find Aveeno eczema care stuff (wash and cream) helped a lot when it was bad.
