You may know your LO's personality/talents already if they are older, but I have no idea at 3 months. Still, I looked up ice skating lessons today! I would love for her to be a figure skater!

Maybe swimming?! I swam in college and my LO loves the water. She's only 14 mo, so who knows!
There are great swimming and figure skating programs in my area that have produced Olympians... I'm a little scared of figure skating (and gymnastics, football, and cheerleading...oh, and skiing...anything where there's potential for falls/collisions)! I guess if my LO really wanted to be a figure skater, I would let her....maybe. Lol!
ETA: I probably sound neurotic, but I used to work in a TBI clinic, so I saw all the worst cases!

@JennyD: that's what I was going to say!
Or maybe diving. At 8 months she hasn't exactly tried it in water yet, but she's always trying to dive off my lap these days.

I would love for her to be a gymnast. But she may also be good at horseback riding, since she's got the movement down.

I don't know...too bad hand chewing isn't an Olympic sport.

I dunno, but D would be over the moon thrilled if he was an Olympic skier of some sort (long jump, downhill, Alpine) and would probably be fine with a snowboarder.
Really, any Winter Olympic sport that isn't figure skating or ice dancer. It was on when we were at my ILs today and he opted to go outside and shovel their driveway instead of watch it

@NurseMommy: Traumatic Brain Injury - awful, awful stuff out there. I worked with kids with disabilities, many of them TBI and it was heartbreaking.
DD1 is all about the water so I'm going to say swimming! She also loves jumping over things so maybe hurdles as well!

Well his new obsession is "basketball", anything with a ball - he wants to play!
DH thinks he'll be into skiing - DH loves skiing himself!

Is there a "put things into other things" sport? DS can do that. Not like, basketball or anything. More like Monica from "Friends" organizational style.

@Ree723: you'd think as a nurse who used to work in neurology I might've figured this out. Thanks.

Not sure... I was an competitive figure skater into late highschool and DH played hockey in college so we joke that it'll be ice wars in our house. But honestly, I don't think I'd push my kids toward figure skating since my experience (and possibly it was just my club) was that it promoted a lot of unhealthy behaviour/standards, and I still have pain from a lot of injuries.
Maybe speed skating? LO has pretty chunky/muscular thighs.

Hockey! Who knows though, DH and I both pretty athletic, so sports like running, volleyball, soccer, gymnastics, trampoline could all be solid potentials. Hockey is just natural given DH coaches university hockey, and has coached some national team players!
She may get my horseback riding abilities, but I have zero plans to push her toward that sport (of course right now at 15m she is horse obsessed as she can be!)! If she is sporty we hope no figure skating, skiing, or snowboarding!

I would say gymnastics. She loves to dance, tumble and climb on anything and everything.

@daniellemybelle: haha I just posted a video last night of LO twirling around while we were watching figure skating.
I captioned: sorry, no way in hell I can be a stalin sports mom!
