I began to suspect reflux in my 6 month old. For several months we've have an extreme escalation of fussy behavior in an other-wise joyful baby. Eventually it got to the point that I knew it wasn't a developmental leap, growth spurt, or other illness. My gut kept telling me something was wrong. We had been doing some solids for about a month so I stopped them and it cut the fussing in half. I began to think back, and realized that she's been exhibiting signs of reflux for a while but nothing was to the point that I thought something was wrong with her until recently. Anyway, I relayed all this to her pediatrician at her well check today and he prescribed Zantac. (I figured he would.) He didn't say much other than her dosage and we should know if it's helping in a week. When I went to pick it up, I noticed that it's a 30 day supply with no refills...are we expecting the Zantac to heal it? Is it just a 30 day supply because we just suspect reflux and it could be something else? I was just under the impression that it would be more long term. What was your Zantac experience?
