My parents read, take classes, volunteer, go on day trips with friends, work on their house and travel a lot! They were worried about being bored but they say they don't miss work at all!

My parents are still pretty young but plan on retiring within a year or two. They will be serving a mission for my church!

My parents have been retired since their 40's and I don't know how they do it. They have friends, shoot pool regularly, take naps, travel allll the time, work out, read, and just seem to really enjoy relaxing. I get too antsy for that.

My mum retired about a year and a half ago (unfortunately, her retirement coincided with my stepfather's passing, so she's been on her own for her whole retirement to date) and she is busier than ever. I am so proud of her for turning what could have been a very depressing situation into an exciting new life. She definitely inspires me!
She walks 5km with a group of ladies from her neighbourhood every morning. In the winter the curls two mornings a week (except for the month she spends in FL). She is very involved in the local art gallery and all their various activities. And she attends a lecture series once a week on various topical and timely subjects. She's also a member of a book club. She seems to find new things to do all the time....e.g. this weekend she's tailgating and attending a university football game with a group of my stepdad's former colleagues.

My Mom trains dogs (for dog shows, hunt tests, agility, obedience) and that takes up a crazy amount of time.
My MIL, I have no idea. She probably obsessively cleans her condo, watches all the day time talk show (she puts them on when she visits us), and keeps up on celebrity gossip. She doesn't have any real time consuming hobbies and she hates to travel (ok by me, she visits less!)
