What time are you going?
We always go to Midnight mass on Christmas Eve, but that's not an option this year. We'll probably end up going to a 6 PM Christmas Eve mass.

We're planning on going at 5pm Christmas Eve
Too scared to try a later service for fear of a cranky sleep deprived LO

I am a new Catholic (was baptized during the Easter Vigil of 2012) but have always enjoyed going to the midnight mass with my husband. This year with LO we are going to the earliest one available.

6:00 PM - not totally ideal for us, but we'll finagle her dinner schedule around it since it's the earliest Christmas Eve option I can find!

Dh and I are going separately since lo is only 3 weeks and we don't really want him around massive crowds.

We're going to the 5 PM one at my parent's church. They have singing beforehand and are going to save us seats so that LO doesn't have to sit through 2+ hours of church just to get a seat. I'm going to miss midnight mass for the next couple of years. It was so nice, made the evening less rushed and you didn't have to show up rediculously early to get a seat!

My nosy walking 14 month old will not sit still for 5 minutes, let alone a Xmas eve mass. They don't have a crying room or anything like that so DD will be breaking for the altar every chance she gets. DH will stay home with her while I go with my family.

I'm afraid that I'm going to have to stay home this year with LO while family goes. It's tradition to always go to the 10 pm mass on Christmas Eve. Then we come home and open presents at midnight. I'm going to stay home and try to catch some sleep before presents. LO is 4 months. Next year I can leave her because my uncle and BIL always stay back at the house, but she doesn't take a bottle and I'm scared she'll wake up if I go this year.

My uncle is a priest so we go to his mass, usually around 6pm. This will be the first Christmas mass with an infant.
She's 10 weeks. I'm debating putting her in the carrier because she hates the carseat.

No Catholic, but we will be going to the 3 pm church service before heading out to my parent's house. I usually enjoy the nighttime ones but LO goes to bed at 7 so those aren't possible anymore. I hope they still do the lights down for the 3 o'clock one!

We are going to the 5:30 or the 10:30 pm mass. 5:30 if it is just lo and myself or 10:30 if it is all of us. DH is coming home from work, so he may be too tired. This is my first Christmas mass in 13 years that I'm not singing at midnight mass. I'm a little sad, but am excited about Christmas with our little girl.

We were going to go to the 5pm but decided we're going to go see lights instead. Heathens.

@chanzi: What a special Christmas it will be to have LO get baptized!

We did 6 pm Mass. It was at a church we don't usually go to but was the best option time-wise and we were a little disappointed. It wasn't geared towards children and whole thing was very somber rather than joyous. We will definitely go for a true Children's Mass next year.

we are going to a 5pm mass tonight. her bedtime is 7pm, but she slept in until 8:30 today, so it can probably be pushed back a bit.
