It drives DH crazy that I'm always using the sensor to park as close to the garage wall as possible!

This is how I park but WITHOUT a sensor!! I just tell DH that I'm "just THAT good!"

@kpow: Okay, you have to be REALLY good to do that without a sensor and not hit the wall! I'm waiting for him to try to have the sensor permanently deactivated or just install that thing that public parking garages have on the walls.

@kpow: That's impressive!!
I bench how far in I need to park by lining up against things on the perpendicular wall.

I actually park as close to the garage door b/c I back in and need room in the back to walk and open my trunk. I wish they made garages deeper. I see a lot of our neighbors with full-size SUVs and minivans park outside bc it wont' fit in their garage.

@erwoo: Yeah, we had an "incident" when we first bought our SUV so we decided to have the garage door system modified so I could actually open the back door of the car all the way with the garage door closed. Or if someone opened the garage door while the back door was open the two wouldn't touch.

@spaniellove: Yeah, I should probably have ours modified. I thought about it but now I'm just used to backing in. Garage door openers bother me too! LOL!

@Alivoo01: that's how I do it too - curb mirror on my SUV lines up with the treadmill

My husband used to do this without sensors and it drove me crazy! Although he also ran into the wall a good amount.
