We were in a minor car accident this afternoon but I am fine and so is LO, just really shook up. We were rear ended getting on the rotary. Paramedics checked her out and said she looks/acts fine but I am still really nervous. Should I take her to her doctor to be sure ? She is acting like her normal self but I am just so scared!

I'm so sorry! That is so scary. I would probably schedule a follow up with her Pediatrician just in case! Hugs!

@NovBaby1112: Oh my goodness I am so sorry!!! That is one of my worst fears!!! I am so glad you're both okay!! I would monitor her for the night and see if she seems like she's uncomfortable by tomorrow. She may get sore in a few hours:(

Thanks everyone...I think I will monitor her tonight and see how she is doing. She seems torally fine but i am going to be a nervous wreck tonight while she sleeps. I am going to call her doc and just make a check up appt for tomorrow. She cried pretty hard when it happened- I think the noise startled her
seriously getting into a car accident was my biggest fear, esp with LO. I'm just glad we are both ok though.

Oh no! Well I'm glad everyone is okay! I don't think that setting up a follow up with your pedi or taking you lo in for peace of mind would cause any harm. If it makes you feel better to get her monitored some then do it!

That is one of my biggest fears! I have been in 4 accidents (I was not at fault) with my current car & can't wait to get a mini van for added protection. It doesn't hurt to have her been seen. Keep in mind that the next day or two after and accident is usually the worse. Take care of yourself and give that baby tons of hugs & loves!

so scary! glad everyone is ok. i'm such a paranoid worrywart I would bring her in the next day just for the ped to reassure me, but I have severeeee anxiety and would lose sleep over it.

A follow up with her ped will put your mind at ease, I'm sure.

@NovBaby1112: How scary! glad you are ok! Are you sore at all? If so, I'd go get checked out. It might be important if you end up needing insurance to cover treatment later on. Same for your LO. If you did get injured, the 2nd-3d days are the worst. Also, you may want to replace your carseat unless it was super minor. Not sure where you live, but in the US insurance usually covers carseat replacement.

I made an appt with her ped tomorrow afternoon just to make sure she is ok and for the reassurance. I just put her to bed bc we are both exhausted, please keep her in your prayers tonight- she is my whole world.
@hellobeeboston: I hate that rotary, It was during the busiest time, soo packed and a SUV thought I was going even though there was no opening and he slammed into me. Ugh...but at least we are both ok

@78h2o: I'm not really sore at all, thank goodness... I am going to ask about the carseat, not sure if we need to get it replaced but I know our insurance does cover it.

@NovBaby1112: If you got rear ended it should be their insurance that replaces it AND I think you may need the receipt so if you have it that'd be worth finding. The manual should say if it needs to be replaced (some are if it's in ANY kind of accident, while others have a list of things the accident must "pass" for the seat to still be considered safe.
