I'm 23 weeks today, which means I'll be having my delightful glucose test in about five weeks. I was flagged with my firstborn. I tested at 138, and the office's cutoff was 140, so I did the three-hour challenge. I passed the immediate and one-hour test, then (barely) failed the two-hour and three-hour. They didn't diagnose me with GD, but just the same, I'm worrying about this pregnancy!
1. Is there anything I can eat now that could help guard against it in a month and a half?
2. Because I was borderline with my first, does this mean the same thing for my second?
Selfishly, I think I'm most worried that GD during pregnancy will mean I'll have diabetes AFTER pregnancy, which completely alarms me.
Thanks for any insights!
