When p is throwing a tantrum he pulls his hair so hard and will start hitting himself in the face. it has me a little worried. does this sound like normal toddler behavior? Also sometimes when he is sitting by a wall or ion his carseat he will bang the back of his head off the wall. (he does this when he is not upset at all, almost like he is doing it just for fun?!?! ) it kinda scares me that it could be autisitic signs but then he is a toddler too and toddlers do weird things.... He is very very social, smily and interactive with strangers and us.

LO does that. Twirling her hair is a soothing mechanism for her, so when she gets upset her hands are already in her hair and she starts pulling it. Thankfully, we're over the head banging stage, but she would bang her head on whatever was nearby when having a tantrum. It was horrible.

LO does this too. I think it comes down to coping/soothing mechanisms because he can't express his frustration with words. When he does that, I make sure to say that "I understand you're frustrated right now with what's going on. Let's do this instead." It helps him to know that I understand and to start communicating when he's frustrated.

Both of my lo's have done / do the same things and are not autistic
my oldest used to bang her head on the walls all the time, I was worried but she got over it and is perfectly fine. My toddler has a thing for slapping herself of the leg when she gets upset and she pulls her hair sometimes.

Yep. Normal. DS used to do that and it drove me crazy.
