Messier. My mom was super anal about having a clean house. She didn't work, had a nanny when we were little, and we had a housecleaner. She polished the marble once a week!!!! Made beds every day!!! AH. She even commented on how messy my home was when E was 10 weeks old and DH was on a training thing! I dagger-eyed her over that.
I prefer the term "lived-in"

Messier. My mom was a SAHM til we were school aged and a total neat/clean freak. I def dont like going to bed with a messy house, but if I'm exhausted, I'm ok with cleaning the next day!

About the same. Before kids it was definitely more tidy, but now I have two little tornadoes so I've learned to ignore the mess.

About the same. However, I find this way more interesting with friends. I have an old friend, who's house I remember to be quite messy, and she keeps the CLEANEST house. I'm always amazed when I go over there. she puts my house to shame.

Messier, my Mom was a SAHM and OCD neat freak with only one child AND a husband who worked out of state for 4 months! I have OCD with cleaning too, but I have 3 (5 every other weekend) kids and a full time job. I have a hard time sleeping when the house is a mess, I 'm always nagging, and picking up stuff, and cleaning. I have to have dishes done, counters wiped down, and the house "picked up".

Messier...my mom was/is a neat freak. Lately I'm letting it go more than usual because I'm pregnant (and sick all the time) and chasing around a 1-year old all day. I wish it were cleaner, but I've given up temporarily.

My parents were hoarders, and that was a pretty crummy way to grow up. So I'm a pretty big clean freak. It's always hard for me to read those articles encouraging moms to give up on cleanliness. Obviously we shouldn't judge people by the house they keep, but speaking from experience - growing up in a terribly messy house isn't fun. I was always jealous of friends with beautiful homes.

Hmm... my mom's house always has sparkling floors but its extremely cluttered.
We have clutter but its not nearly as bad. My floors are not as clean as my mom's though!

Definitely messier. We had a playroom growing up that we could keep a lot of the kid clutter out of sight. But in an 800 sq ft open floorplan apartment, it's always looks messy just because we're running out of space.

My house is cleaner than how I grew up. However we have a cleaning lady and one baby. She was a SAHM with a traveling husband, two under two and no family for hours.

WAY cleaner. My house growing up was always so messy and my husband is a neat freak.

about the same... but my mom did a good job of staying on top of things on weekdays, where I let things slide until the weekend.

Messier for sure. My mom is a compulsive cleaner, and vacuums/cleans daily. I totally wish my house looked like hers, but I don't have the motivation or time, really.
