I'm going to switch docs before I get pregnant with the next one, but I can't decide if I'm ok with a male doctor "down there." So, what gender is yours?

My gynecologist is female. There is a male in the practice. I've had a male gynecologist before and was comfortable with him. I think it was because he was much older. A really young malw doctor performed my IUI and I wasn't really comfortable with that.

He's a male, and I love him...haha.
I got him randomly because he was on call the night I had to have surgery for my ectopic, and I feel like it was fate. He is so calm, gentile, and reassuring. It's a large practice, though with several other doctors who are both male and female so I expect I would see many of them during a pregnancy.

I have only been to one gyno and it was female. I never thought I would be ok with a male. When I had to find an OB the best reviews I found were males. I have a 2 male OB pratice and they are so great (both older men).

My ob is a female. Not sure if I'd be completely comfortable with a male.

I have always had a female gyno, but this time I have a guy (chose him based on recommendations/word of mouth). DH and I both like him a lot! He's young (I would guess early 30s? but looks younger) and for some reason that weirds me out less than I think an old guy would. But the other 3 doctors in the practice are all older, so who knows who will deliver this baby. I would try to choose a doctor based on word of mouth, rather than based on gender.

I've only had female gyns. I would be OK with a male OB, I think, but less so for routine well woman things. I never had to seek out a female, they were always friend recommendations.

I've only had 1 male doctor. I like him. The first time I saw him though he started working down there and then said he delivered me. I was like, no that was my sister. Anyways it reminded me of that movie where she dated a ob and he didn't recognize her til he started the exam lol.

I had a male doc deliver me after seeing all the women in my practice, and I loved him - definitely changed my viewpoint about being more comfortable with a female doc!

They are all women in the practice. I like it better that way.

My OB is a male, he is awesome. I was so relieved that he was on call the night I delivered.

My birthcenter had female midwives but I was transferred to a hospital at the end and the OB was male. I really liked him though.
I wouldn't care male/female as long as I felt comfortable with them and they identified with my views/preferences.

female. I don't think I could have a male. My OB was going away the weekend after my due date and said she could refer me to a male doctor in the practice and I got SO freaked out. So glad DD decided to show up 11 days late (the only positive of that decision lol)

My midwife was a female but both OBs on call the day DS was born were male, and DH and I liked both of them a whole lot.

I have a male although he has a female assistant and she is always there.

I go to a practice that mainly has three femal OB/gyn's and you rotate seeing all of them during pregnancy. There are two semi-retired mal gyn's in the practice, but they don't do deliveries so you don't see them during pregnancy.

My doc's a woman, and so are the rest of the ones in the practice! I wanted a woman specifically, but I actually didn't know about the rest in the practice until I was pregnant...a happy surprise!

Female. Our fertility dr was a male though.... it actually made me kind of uncomfortable. I think one reason I prefer a female is because she can relate.

I've only had one ob-gyn (10+ yrs!), and she's female. The thought of a male ob GYN makes me very anxious & DH would rather me see a female.

I see both. I don't have a problem with either. It's not like they are getting any pleasure out of examining me. I've actually found the males to be a little more compassionate though.

I used to have a woman but then I really liked the OB who delivered M so, he's my new GYN.

I have a woman. I'm just more comfortable with that. And I like the fact that she is a mother so she can relate to my pregnancy issues and concerns. I was recommended to her because she is my primary care doctor's OB so I felt really confident about her skills as well. Turns out all the OBs in her practice are also women which was a happy accident for me.

I have a male OB. The last two, including this one, that I've seen regularly were male.

My main OB is a female, but there is a male in the practice... actually he started the practice. He doesn't deliver anymore, but I would have been thrilled if he had been there for LO's birth. He's awesome and one of the most highly regarded ob-gyns in the area. My previous ob-gyn was a male as well, but also a lot older. I think I would be weirded out if they were young.

Both my GYN and my RE are female. I also have an OB practice picked out that has "All Female" in the name. I'm not really comfortable with a male doctor all up in my business.

My OB is female (all-female practice) but my perinatologist is male

Mine is a female. I've seen a male in the past, and honestly I liked him much more!

I saw a female gynecologist prior to starting with my current practice, but she was GYN only and her office was near where I work, not near where I live so she wouldn't have been able to deliver at my hospital even if she was OB.
My current practice has two male doctors and two female midwives. My initial pelvic was done by one of the females, I haven't had any internal exams yet by the males, but I feel comfortable enough with them now that I wouldn't have a problem. It makes a world of difference that I've had several office visits with each before they actually get in my biz

My primary ob-gyn is a male, but I haven't seen him since before I got my BFP. My main perinatologist is a guy, but my appointments are with which doc is up, and the other two are women.

Male and I'm comfortable with him. He is really nice and always makes time for my questions. He delivered our first child and will be delivering our second.
