How did you plan the bris? We don't even have a mohel in our area so I'm not sure what we're going to do. I have to talk to the rabbi about this one. I'm early in my pregnancy but I have a feeling it will be a boy!

I'm not Jewish but we were planning on having a Mohel perform the circ.... We met with one & chatted & he told us just to called when lo was born & he'd work us into his schedule. He was coming from 6 hours away (we don't have ANY anywhere nears us).

My friend was team green and had a boy. While she was in hospital her mom and MIL planned the bris. They had contacted a mohel ahead of time with their due date.

We asked my OB for a recommendation at maybe around 32 weeks, called the mohelet (loved that it was a woman!) and explained the situation. She talked us through the process and said to call her when the baby was born if it was a boy. We put her number in my husband's phone, called from the hospital and scheduled it for the next week. It all went really smoothly.

I got the name of a mohel from a friend in the area then contacted him when I was maybe 6 months along? I said when I was due and that we didn't know the sex and asked if he can be on call for us. He said sure then also reminded us that he does baby girl baby namings, too. LO ended up being a boy, so he was one of the first calls we made to secure the day/time. We invited people asap and I sent DH to get bagels, coffee, juice, fruit the morning of. Let me know if you have any questions.

Can you call the hospital you're delivering at and ask?
I did this and they found us mohel....but then, last minute, they were able to find us a Muslim doctor to do it instead (i'm Muslim, so obviously that is preferred in our faith). But, the point is: I just called the hospital. Muslim and Jewish folk are very common in our city though, so the hospital was very familiar with my request.

We just planned it ahead of time. Mohels are used to being called at the last minute so we found one through our rabbi, arranged for food, DH even created two invites on paperlesspost - one for a naming and one for a bris, and kept them both as drafts. LO ended up being a girl and people were impressed they got an invite the day after she was born!
