I'm not tracking this cycle, we probably won't get pregnant on our own anyway and I have an appointment next week to make plans so there's no point. I'll take it easy and won't worry about temping in the mornings - a welcome change of pace. We'll still try and I'll keep an eye on cm, but that's all for this month.

A trip to Denmark sounds great! I have been there once (a long time ago) and I really liked it. I hope you're lucky with the weather too.

How many times a day do check OPKs when you know you’re close to O?

Ovulation date: approx May 28-30
POAS date: probably have learned no lessons so let’s say 8dpo? Maybe June 6 which is my dtr 4th bday
Baby#3
This time am doing PV progesterone, baby aspirin, heparin injections, and a million supplements. I feel like I have another try in me after a couple months break 🤞I know my odds of another loss/chemical (6 in a row already) are pretty high so trying not to get my hopes up. My RE gave me a “50% shot in 5yrs” whatever tf that means haha

Hi! Any advice would be welcome. It’s been a couple years since we conceived our first. At that time, I was doing Mucinex twice a day and temping. I have ovulation strips, but I haven’t really used them.
When should I start taking the mucinex? And when should I start the ovulation strips? SMU? I am pretty happy with temping, but why not pee on the ovulation tests since I have them!
My cycles are a little whack. I’ve been breastfeeding and my first cycle in February I ovulated on CD 43 and only had a 6 day luteal phase. My next cycle ovulated on CD 20 and had an 8 day luteal phase. Hopefully they become more regular or we can catch an egg!

Estimated O date was May 30 but tested on a whim before bed (negative OPK this am) and for a blazing positive. I don’t temp to confirm but does anyone know in general when ovulation generally occurs? Last week I got a pm am and pm of positive OPK and obviously without temping I can’t confirm, but curious in your experience if there are any “norms.” Will see what tomorrow’s OPKs Bri but may be moving test date up.
How is everyone doing?

I don't temp this month, so I'm not sure, but I think OV was probably yesterday or the day before.
My appointment is tomorrow, I can't wait to have some more information and finally have a real plan.

So I'm back from the doc and I have some news. Not the best news, but I guess it is what it is. I have high prolactine and need meds, there's also something going on with my thyroid, so I need meds for that too. (The doctor said that neither of them would need any attention if we weren't having trouble getting pregnant, so I'm not in any real trouble I guess.) The rest was fine, all the vitamins are in normal range, that was a shock, people around here live in constant vitamin D deficiency, and there were no infections.
SO's results were not good unfortunately, there was not a lot of material to start with and only 1% of the cells were normal... There's no chance of conceiving on our own at this point. He'll repeat the analysis next week and they will draw bloods then too. The doctor said we'll try everything else first and that maybe there's an easily fixable problem, but also put us in the IVF waiting list.
The plan right now is for me to start the meds to get my prolactine and thyroid stuff under control, they'll check again in the beginning of July, my next appointment is in the middle of July. My SO will do his thing and then we'll hope for the best, but if things don't change for the better, we'll start the IVF journey in November.
My feelings are...conflicted. I'm glad to have a plan of sorts. If things go really well, there just might be a slim chance for me to have a baby just in time for my 30th birthday, but I'm still sad that, as of right now, there is no chance for us to do the most natural thing in the world well...naturally.

@paranundrum: I remember all of those mixed feelings so well! Happy to have some answers, but the "omg we're really those people and we have to do IVF..." feeling like a statistic bc you can't do what so many other couples can do easily or even accidentally.
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@paranundrum: if it's any comfort, thyroids are easy business lady. 1 pill a day, semi annual ish blood work, and if it's hypo once it's balanced your hair, mood, weight, and energy all change for the better. (No experience with hyper though)
I've read articles and anecdotes about men being put on Clomid amongst other things to help with the sperm count or morphology... Also vitamins and supplements can make a change too. This is an unofficial opinion but it seems men's problems are usually easier to work with than women's issues because they just have to get 1 there and the women has to have everything just so to get and maintain a pregnancy.

@yellowbeach: It's good to know I'm not alone and have a great community here. I don't feel comfortable sharing any of this in real life at the moment.
@Sams Mom: I have hyperthyroidism I think, the numbers are too high. I had it diagnosed some years ago, but it's just slightly over so they didn't even put me on meds. Now it's more crucial to get everything in line I guess.
I hope there's an easy fix. We'll have more answers after the gets more thorough testing done.

@paranundrum: hypo is what I had before Sam, and it's easy once it's managed. You feel so much better afterwards. 🤞🤞🤞

CD3 here - wondering if anyone did anything fun this Memorial Day weekend? We grilled out yesterday while DD played in her $17 inflatable kiddie pool from Target. Win! Back to the grind today... should hear if I got the full-time job or not any day now...
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@yellowbeach: hung out at the [flooded] lake all weekend with my side of the family. Sam got to play with his 3 cousins for 2 1/2 days straight; so he was in a coma from the minute we got in the car.
Also fingers crossed for your job!
Period should be coming any hour (today or tomorrow since I've had 2 days of low temps). I have my well woman appointment next week, so I'm sure I'll get the third degree on why I haven't seen an RE yet. 🙄
