Just curious, at what point were you comfortable with your LO sitting in the front seat of a shopping cart?
DD is 2.5 weeks old so I know we're still a long way from this (for now she stays in her car seat and we're going to try baby wearing while shopping). I was just curious about other people's experiences.

When she could sit up well! I used shopping cart cover at first but with #2 I'll just wipe down the seat.

From 6 ish months on? Once she was sitting up well. It was around the same time I started putting her in restaurant high chairs. I never used a cover, just wiped it down, but in the beginning I would put a blanket behind or around her so help support her and protect her if she decided to try and bang her head on it or something.

We started i guess around 7 months.... also with a cart cover it just seemed more comfortable than the hard plasic/metal of the cart. In the early days I would either wear her or we'd both go to the store one would push the cart and the other would push the snap & go stoller, or leave her with daddy and go alone

I'm undoubtedly a freak, but I didn't put LO in the cart until after 1. I wore him instead.

We started around 5.5-6 months, but LO was sitting up well unassisted by 5 months. We have used a cart cover so far (he's 9 months now) mostly because I don't want him trying to teeth on the handle.

When he could sit up, 6 or 7 months. I still wear him though more frequently than not. Its just easier than worrying if he's grabbing stuff or spinning around in the seat!

not till about 11 months because the belt never fit right before then. He'd always stand up. I just wore him before, and still do now for short trips

At 6 months she was teeny in it but she could sit in it. The belts never seemed to fit right no matter the age, though!

We did it first time around 8 months, but he didn't start sitting up at until 6.5mo.

When she started sitting up, around 6 months. The first few times, she was still a little wobbly so I propped her up with toilet paper halfway through the store, haha.

I prefer to baby wear, but I just started putting DS#2 in the cart at 16 months old! He could have done it earlier though

When he could sit reliably, so about 6-7 months? I used to wipe it down... not so much any more! He loves going in the trolley!

I'd feel comfortable now and DD is 6 mo and sits up well. I'd just a cart cover just b/c she'd probably try to lunge everywhere and I don't want her to hit her head! I haven't done this though as I usually wear her at stores.

Oh man I wore DD until she was at least 20ish months old for shopping trips! Loved that! But then she started getting restless so into the cart she went. It was MUCH easier to wear her, IMO.

TI'll about 8 months. She was small and would slide around (even buckled!) prior to that so I just wore her

around 6 months when she could sit up on her own. it wasn't all the time and i used a cart seat cover, but i won't bother for the next kid.
