What did you guys think of last night's episode?

I kinda thought "wow, now that he's dead what's the show gonna be about?"

I thought it was kinda slow but it certainly set up a lot. I think Brody is going to die, but I have no clue what they're going to do next season! Now that Abu Nazir is gone, Walden, etc. Maybe Carrie will do something super dramatic and she'll be next season's target? I can't even fathom.

We just watched it last night...I have no idea how they're going to keep the show going after this season! I feel like they could have stretched out the Brody-as-double-agent thing much longer. I'm excited to see the finale though!
Also, does anyone else really dislike Chris (Brody's son)? I find him so annoying!
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@hilsy85: Chris is annoying, but the daughter is worse!
@ladyfingers: @BeachMama: Maybe they'll accidentally kill Brody's family, and then he'll team up with Carrie (and Saul?) to prove it was Estes?
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@mediagirl: I totally made that up, I have no idea what will happen!
pomelo / 5331 posts
@mrbee: Maybe they'll accidentally kill Dana. And then Chris can wander around her body obliviously asking if anybody wants to play Go Fish.
@hilsy85: YES! Super annoying. That whole family is annoying, which is why it totally makes sense for Brody to die, so we don't have to suffer through those three nogginheads anymore.
As long as nothing happens to Saul "You'd Better Not Effin' Call me The Bear" Berenson, I'll keep watching.

@mrbee: lol I know you don't know what will happen but you just said maybe they will kill off Brody's family!! Haha.
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@ladyfingers: Haha, I don't think they'll kill Dana. Just because if they kill her, there will be no one left to get completely naked in the love scenes.
And HAHAHAHA, that Bear line was the funniest line in the entire season!!!
Maybe they decide to get serious next season and look for the mole.
pomelo / 5331 posts
@mrbee: YES IT WAS and his delivery was AMAZING! I love him so, so much. Also... Dana is the daughter. Did you mean Jessica?! (I hope!)
Oh YES good call on next season being about the mole. I had this crazy guess that Galvez was the mole at the beginning of the season, so I got really excited when they went for it, but I was so disappointed he wasn't lol.
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@mediagirl: Yah I think they need to do something big though, as Brody needs a new motivation. His major motivation was to get revenge for Isa, and now that he's killed Walden... he's all set on that front. His other motivation (maybe?) is redemption for helping Nazir... but that feels less concrete to me. If Brody's family was killed, he'd have a real motivation again! Or maybe they'll kill someone else he was close to...
@ladyfingers: Haha sorry, yah I meant Jessica! I was bummed that they religiously profiled Galvez... felt like a moment on 24, not Homeland.
Btw, I can't believe that anyone would clear a facility with teams of humans. Wouldn't you insist on using canines?

I totally thought Saul was the mole at first! I still don't know why he failed the polygraph test when it asked whether he gave the razor to the guard who killed himself...am I missing something there?
pomelo / 5331 posts
@mrbee: Yeah I thought that line from Carrie was so crappy. "He is a Muslim." So?!
@hilsy85: I think the polygraph line of questioning was intended to get Saul so riled up that his numbers would be all over the place and they could threaten to tie him up with further investigation due to an inconclusive test. I think that he failed the question about Aileen because he knew he did "give" her the weapon when he lent her his glasses, but it wasn't intentional. Not sure about the guard though.
squash / 13764 posts
@ladyfingers: so you think even back then estes was trying to get rid of him?? I do NOT like estes now!!
pomelo / 5331 posts
@hilsy85: Oh you mean the original polygraph? Did he even take that one? I thought he had refused the first time around. And yeah, Estes is NOT a good person for sure! I think he really got it in for Saul when Saul uncovered the truth about the drone attack last season.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
I really need to watch this week's episode.... haha!!
squash / 13764 posts
@ladyfingers: no he did take it! And then when he failed that question he rushed out of the room and didn't finish answering all the questions--they were in the middle of some big operation, don't remember which one. And then he went back later and retook it and passed.

There's no way they're going to kill him, right?!
PS - So stoked that you guys watch this show! DH and I are addicted. I also can't wait for Shameless!!
pomelo / 5331 posts
@hilsy85: Ah - I think I need to rewatch Season 1! I'm not clear on that either, but I feel like they've been setting us up to believe Saul is the mole, but I don't think he is.
apricot / 321 posts
@ladyfingers: I think she used it as an excuse to justify her reasoning for checking him out. I agree with you though, but you know she's a crazy ass and they never want to do what she wants. Hahaha.

@mrbee: The Bear line was hilarious but I think the funniest line was actually from last episode - “You still don’t get it, do you? I’m killing you.”
I don't think they're going to kill Brody but yeah, his family can go. No one will miss them (except for the Jessica nudity, as you say) and then Brody will have a reason to be in next season.
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@BabyBear: I don't really have anything against him. He just hasn't been a very interesting character. I'm tired of looking at Dana's sour puss face and Jessica is just terrible so I definitely hope they go!
apricot / 321 posts
@Andrea: perhaps he will shock us! Haha. It's surprising his son doesn't have much of a role in the show. Would be nice to see a twist. Dana and Jess can go away forever for sure.
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@BabyBear: Maybe his son is competing with Tony Soprano's son for most useless character on a cable drama!

Has anyone seen the SNL skit of homeland (Anne Hathaway is Carrie)? It's hillllarious - especially the Dana impersonation!
I'm SO OVER Brody's family. The son is the worst actor ever and Jessica just aggravates me to no end. And who would ever call their spouse by their last name?
I'm crazy but I keep telling my husband Estes is the mole. Who else could be the mole? Quinn? It's not Saul, obviously.
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@winniebee: I thought the skit was great, but Anne Hathaway's Carrie impression felt forced to me! Loved the Dana impersonation tho!
I was called by my last name a lot in high school, especially after I started playing football. It's pretty common in the military too... maybe Jess picked it up then since I think they all went to high school together?
I would love Estes to be the mole! But didn't he execute the hit on Abu Nazir's son along with the VP? Would be weird if a mole killed the son of his handler... unless maybe he got turned or blackmailed by Abu Nazir later. Or maybe he's loyal to someone else who was leaking intel to Abu Nazir.
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
Was anyone else confused by the way that Quinn made such a big deal out of the SWAT team guys working in pairs, and then that one SWAT guy decides to hang out with Carrie all by himself? It just didn't make sense...
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@mrbee: I know, it doesn't make sense for him to be the mole, but every episode I say "It's him it's him!" The mole has to be a character that we've been introduced to. Who do you think it is?
@mrbee: Yeah, I thought that was weird too. And of course then I said to my husband, that guys' working for Nazir!! But then he got his throat slit. I apparently love the conspiracy theories.
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@mrbee: YES, I was complaining about that to DH. Sometimes the show is so unrealistic, but oh well.
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@winniebee: Maybe it was Brody who slipped the razor blade in Season 1?
It could be that Saul's wife was kidnapped and he's being forced to leak intel. Don't think so, but it would be motive.
I think Quinn has done a lot of bad things, but that he's a soldier. He wouldn't leak intel on purpose... maybe he's telling Dar Adul, who has been compromised?
I dunno who the mole is. Is it too much to hope that it might be Jessica?
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
Okay, I finally watched the episode. Now I'm reading everyone's comments and I want to say the same exact thing!! Haha.
I didn't like how the one swat guy felt like it was okay to go off with Carrie and not let his team know. Also, the other swat guy driving off to the hospital? Wouldn't he have let his team know?
I think it would be awesome if they would kill off Brody's family accidentally and not kill him. Like, they set off a house bomb when he is supposed to be there but instead, the family is there and he's off banging Carrie.
What does everyone think is going to happen with Saul?
I liked the son last season. This season, he grew up some and really does seem useless like you said, @mrbee.
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@mediagirl: That guy driving to the hospital was Galvez from the CIA I thought?
I wonder if something will happen to increase Saul's value... kind of like how Carrie became more valuable after her old contact said she'd only talk to her. Or maybe he'll be tossed out of the CIA, and be the new Carrie on the outside looking in.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@mrbee: HA! I wish it was Jessica. The other thing I didn't understand is why she didn't want to hear the full story from Brody this week. She's like "I don't have to care anymore." Um, he's the father of your children and unless you are going to prohibit him from seeing them....dont you want to know if he's a terrorist?
That's a good point about Quinn. And I do think Brody slipped the razor in season 1.
admin / wonderful grape / 20724 posts
@winniebee: I got the feeling that before she wanted to know the truth about Brody, because she wanted to make the marriage work. But now she was saying that she doesn't care any more about the truth... because she doesn't care any more about the marriage?
I agree that I would want to know that my spouse was a terrorist!
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
@mrbee: I can't keep everyone straight. My husband and I are still trying to figure out who the driver was that got the cease fire of murdering Brody?
You mentioned Saul's wife earlier....I often wonder if she will come back in some capacity. Maybe she will be a link that will make him more valuable again. Who knows! I'm excited to see next week's episode.
@winniebee: seriously! Who calls their spouse by their last name? It's very impersonal. Maybe she started calling him that when he came back to keep him at a distance.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@mrbee: I totally get why she would want to know before. But even if she doesn't want to save the marriage does she want her terrorist husband hanging out with her kids? Wouldn't she want to know just for that purpose alone!?
squash / 13764 posts
@mediagirl: that driver was Quinn! Estes plans to kill him now that Nazir has been captured. @winniebee: omg the son is AWFUL...I feel like he acts like a 5 year old and he's supposed to be 12!
