How old are these kids?, If they are really young then I would understand their parents going with them, but if it was meant to be a kids only event I would be annoyed if I saw other parents helping their kids...

@Andrea: I totally agree with you. And I'm glad my parents taught me the same. If I wasn't good enough, they pushed me harder to be better. They never stepped in and did things for me. Ugh!
