I know a couple moms that have bf'd through pregnancy. They all dealt with the nipple sensitivity but I think, atleast for one, it passed.

You may consider getting your levels checked, like vit d, etc. I know a bf'ing mom that dealt with dizziness & lightheadedness & it was due to vit d deficiency.... Given the season I figure its even more of a possibility.

I haven't done it but during a LLL meeting, one woman discussed her experience. She said that she stopped because of severe breast pain when she was about 12w pregnant and resumed when she was around 28w; however she was nursing a toddler who didn't really need the BM unlike your LO. She also stated that she knows her milk "dried up" at some point in there.

I was breastfeeding for the first few weeks of my pregnancy, but my son was nearly 2 and we were in the process of weaning anyway.

I'd say to make sure to keep snacks around at all times-- maybe granola bars/nuts/dried fruits in your bedroom so you can get at them in the middle of the night or ASAP in the morning. Also eating heavier foods like oatmeal can help.

I've heard that breastfeeding helps to reduce nausea, but I didn't really find that to be the case. The nipple pain was pretty strong but it only lasted for a minute or so at the latch. So try to avoid distractions that might cause your LO to pop on and off.

I think it's also very common for the milk supply to reduce or stop all together. (When we weaned I didn't feel engorged at all.) I've also heard that it can change in taste/become thinner. I imagine this might be a natural way to encourage nurslings to wean.

@Mrsbells Nursing does cause the uterus to contract but it's primarily to help it go back to it's un-pregnant size in the first couple of months after birth. As long as there's no preexisting condition, the contracting on an already "shrunken" uterus would be negligible

First tri was brutal for me- nipples super sensitive and it didn't help my nausea at all. BUT, I just stuck with it and after a while it got better. I was lucky though that I didn't lose much supply, as that seems to be the main issue for most people. Just try to snack a little throughout the day and keep your fluid intake high (I couldn't drink straight water for a while but luckily that went away with the nausea too).
