Totally over thinking this, but how do you mark your LOs growth ruler/chart? We have this one in White. It's in our main living room, so I want it to look nice.
Did you just mark it with pencil or pen? Maybe use a decal for ages (like 1,2,3?) Or…? Any aesthetically pleasing ideas?

Ours came with little stickers that are cute. Maybe check out the craft store for cute scrapbook stickers or letter or number decals.

I just mark with a line and write the date really small (using a coordinating sharpie) every 6 months. So, on every birthday and half birthday.

My Dad made our growth chart but did a really dark stain like I asked. The ruler marking are with white paint. So I am going to try a silver Sharpie. If that doesn't work, then a color paint pen?!?

Ours is stained dark brown (I made it), so we use a white paint pen.

@shopaholic: Oh and I store our white paint pen behind the ruler. There are brackets holding it to the wall and I can slide it back there without it being seen!
