I feel you! A few months ago, I mixed up a spreadsheet of email addresses and names where somehow all the names got separated from the email addresses when I sorted it. So I sent a mass email to about 1,200 of our customers, all starting "Dear [notyourname]," We were all of a sudden flooded with emails saying, "I'm not John," "Who's Mary?" "If I'm such an important customer, why can't you get my name right?" OMG. I wanted to die. Thankfully it blew over and we quickly sent an apologetic email and most everybody was cool with it, and my boss just made a patented "You'll just be extra careful to check that next time, right?" which basically means, "Don't you dare ever do that again."

@MrsBrewer: Yeah, especially because the email "came from" our main email address, so EVERYBODY was getting all those responses from the customers. And we have one dramatic lady that works here, and she was at her desk and I could hear her gasping and going, "OH MY GOD!!" over and over and reading them out loud as they kept rolling in lol. Meanwhile I'm running around trying to figure out what happened and praying it wasn't my fault.

@MrsBrewer: This is in no way intended to make light of your situation . . . but when I first saw your post, I envisioned one of the signs you see at construction work sites that says *X Number of Days Accident Free* and a guy in a hard hat changing out the numbers. For what it's worth, I re-set my own *accident-free* counter to zero not even 2 weeks ago!

And everybody screws up! You get serious good karma points for catching your own error and bringing it to someone's attention.
