In my family this would be a huge huge huge deal :s that my ILs would hold over me forever.
I think it probably depends on yor relationship with them and how they have historically reacted to feeling included/not included?

How many people would it add to invite them?

I think not inviting her will make your relationship with his family eve worse, so you have to consider if that's the direction you want to go. What does your DH think?

It is definitely rude...do you have a bad relationship, like you don't talk? Or like there is tension? I think this would just make it worse...

I think you definitely need to invite your MIL at the very least. Not inviting her will only make the relationship worse.

If the relationship is that bad, maybe she won't come anyways- but that's no reason not to invite her to her own grandbaby's sprinkle.

After your update on not seeing them, then no don't invite them. They probably won't even know you had a sprinkle anyway.

I was initially going to say you should at least invite her, but not all of her sisters. But after learning more about your relationship with her (or lack thereof), I would not invite her.

I think it's pretty rude not to invite her especially because you all live in a small town. There's no way of hiding it that there will be a sprinkle for her grandchild and she's not invited.

I have an aunt in town that I don't get along with, and haven't spoken to in 2 years. We aren't inviting her to our shower... She knows I'm pregnant but hasn't reached out at all. So I get it. Don't waste your time! It's not worth the drama!

My husband and I are estranged from his family - they weren't even invited to our wedding. Etiquette has no place when dealing with toxic people - if their presence is going to make you uncomfortable (at the very least!), then don't invite them!

Does it give her a reason to have your name in her mouth if you don't invite her? If it does, then I'd send an invite.
