What the bleep?! It's 8:33pm and my neighbor literally just started his weed wacker which means he will be mowing his lawn next!! I had to close Lo's window.
What is wrong with my neighbors?! They all mow their lawns like 3x a week and almost always at night?!!!!

I've done it (and at 6:30 am), but I have a reel mower so the noise factor is negligible. I only did it to beat the heat.

I can get this--you come home from work, eat dinner, wait till it cools off. Three times a week seems excessive though!

Boo. DH will only mow the lawn if there is still light outside. Even then he tries to be considerate and will only mow the front and save the rest for another day. We're also the ones who only cut the grass every other week.

I mow the lawn at 6/7 sometimes. It doesn't get dark here until close to 9:30 in the summers.

Yea but you guys are all finishing up around this time. He/they have literally started mowing at 9pm!! We have big yards!!! It takes my DH 4 hours to completely edge and mow our whole property!

Eh, I kinda get it. It's just now getting darkish at 9:30, I can totally see starting yard/lawn work at 8:00. A lot of times schedule-wise/weather-wise/etc., it's what works!

@ms.janedoe: I know, I know. DH tells me I'm being irrational. It's just annoying when baby is just starting to fall asleep and you hear the weed wacker get started up.

maybe a white noise machine would help? our neighbor was power washing and mowing last night around 8pm or so....it's just so dang hot otherwise!

I know! This has happened to us, but we have central air and the windows were closed, so it wasn't a big deal.
if the weather was nicer, though, i would have been pissed and probably would say something. I am that neighbor though...i was pulling out of the driveway last night and another guy was WALKING HIS DOG on my front lawn, I stopped and glared at him, I think he got the message.

@blackbird: we do and the ceiling fan is on. 
LO's room is in the back of the house and we all use riding lawn mowers so it's loud.
@looch: yea, it was cooler last night that we turned the air off which is why I opened the windows. I am totally thisclose to looking up what the local noise ordinance is. Mowing your lawn at night THREE times a week is a bit ridic.

Yeah this wouldn't both me. It's so freaking hot down here that I understand why people would want to do it at night. And honestly, the sound the mower makes is basically white noise... it doesn't wake my LO.

@mamamoose: I like the sound of a lawn mower! It's a summer sound and basically white noise to me.
Now a leaf blower, that's another story. I used to live by a retired gentleman who put much energy into the maintenance of his yard, and that dang leaf blower started every morning around 7:30 in the morning.
