Spending your LO's first Thanksgiving in the hospital must have been so difficult. Sending warm thoughts for you, your baby and your family.

L's numbers have continued to slowly get worse. His spirits are still pretty good but he's uncomfortable with the swelling in his abdomin. We are 1a status on the transplant list (highest priority) and are entertaining offers on donor livers. He's still very stable so we can wait for a very healthy, good liver, but it does look like he'll need a transplant. I'm still in the running to be a living donor in case of emergency. My parents left yesterday and my in laws are here now. Unfortunately my news never is very good but we continue to be hopeful that he will be well again.

Thinking of you all. I would feel so scared and out of control. I am glad he is stable enough to not have to rush the transplant procedure. Hopefully they will be able to find a good match and things will go smoothly. It sounds like he has some very knowledgable and experienced doctors on his team, and that is really encouraging. Hopefully having some family support makes things a little easier. You are taking such wonderful care of him! I know it might not feel like you are making as much of a difference as you would like to, but I am positive he is benefitting SO much from your love and care, and from that of his other family members. And if positive thoughts can do anything, he (and you) have all of my family's.

I forgot to mention that he's no longer spiking fevers, so it's possible that the virus (if it was a virus) that may have caused the damage has finally been conquered. Maybe that will make a difference!

@Mrs. Twine says everything so perfectly.
So glad there are some donor options....this is a reminder for us to make sure that our family knows our wishes to be organ donors - and to put it on our licenses, etc.
Seeing first hand how important organ donation is hopefully puts some of us into action.
If there's anything anyone here can do, please let us know!
