(I'm not a fan, and I told him that I doubt very many people will be. He suggested I ask "the bee," so here I am.)
He said he's not "married" to it, but right now it's his #1 choice.
ETA: I am pretty sure it's the name of Caillou's goldfish.....

I can't imagine this as a human name. Sounds like a golden retriever. I could *maybe* see it as a nickname (I don't know for what...maybe Marigold?) but never on its own.

I don't absolutely hate it. It's just too cutesy for my taste. I think that it would be ok for a nickname but not a real first name.

My family a few generations back had a Goldie Moon, which is really cutesy, but I would never use it personally.
