We are having a work potluck type thing soon to kick start the holiday season and I want to bring nachos because its easy! I plan to bring different toppins like olives, jalapenos, salsa, sour cream and a cheese dip
What is the best cheese dip to use? I want something that can be heated up and will be really cheesy but wont harden up too fast. Also if you have an ideas of better toppings please share

Agreed, velveeta with rotel or salsa. Is it possible to just keep it in a crockpot, so that way it stays warm and keeps from hardening?

chili is always good, and beans too. I went to a wedding with a make your own nacho bar, it was a huge hit. Everyone piled their fixins' in the bottom of the cup and then put the chips on top.

The best way is with a crock pot and then anything should stay soft!

My uncle always has nachos at a party. They get nacho cheese from SAMs club & keep it got and melty in a crockpot. They bring a ladle so everyone can scoop the cheese easily & have all the toppings you mentioned.

@Mrsbells: they use the big nacho bags from SAMs, too! He usually has 50+ people at the party, though, & buys two bags. I think he gets the large 5lbs of cheese too.

@Mrsbells: It is diced tomatoes with a little kick. They make them in mild, medium, hot. You can find in the grocery store with canned tomatoes.
Just melt a 1lb of Velveeta and one can of rotel. Yum!

@Mrsbells: Not to be an enabler, but Bed Bath and Beyond has a double crock on sale for $19. Then you can heat cheese and chili or any sort of sauces for parties. But I love food, so don't listen to me, I'm the devil on your shoulder here.
