The winkle! Neither of my kids played with it. And I was so bummed because it was so expensive! I think I paid $15 for it! sigh....

@chopsuey: I don't get what's so great about it because neither of my kids liked it.

@banana: @chopsuey: aw bummer! M really liked the winkle! It went everywhere with you for a while.

My daughter hates The Leap Frog my pal Violet. She pushes it away and runs up my belly every time she sees it.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
same here-- ds doesn't care for it. he'll grab at it for a second or two, but then it's onto some thing that fits in his mouth!
coconut / 8299 posts
@MarieJ: LOL! That's so cute! My daughter isn't that fond of Violet either. She doesn't hate it. She's just "meh" about it.

Shape sorter, stacking rings tower, Winkle, stacking cups...the only popular toy he's been interested in is the Take Along Tunes, and man that thing is worth it's weight in gold, ever since he was a newborn.
coconut / 8299 posts
@Mrsbells: I should have bought it on Amazon but I bought it on a whim at a local baby boutique store because the store owner said it's one of her best-selling toys! I should give it away. Maybe I'll post it on the classifieds. It's practically brand new. =\

my daughter is terrified of the stride to ride puppy, and anything that moves on its own - like the crawl ball or the catch me kitty.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@sorrycharlie: haha the catch me kitty freaks me out but LO likes it.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@Bao: omg seriously. catch me, catch me, if you can, i'm. a kitty. that loves to play ...the songs are so freaky.
coconut / 8299 posts
@sorrycharlie: The crawl bawl freaks me out too! We don't turn it off every day and at night, it'll just go off on its own! I'll be ready to go to sleep and all of a sudden it'll start playing music and rolling around on the floor! shudddderrrrr...
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
@sorrycharlie: ahhh now it's stuck in my head....again. Kinda like the fox song. Oye!
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@banana: LOL!! i thought LO would like it, and she did the silent cry and climbed me like a tree. so it went back to target!
@Bao: bahaha. sorry!
coconut / 8475 posts
@sorrycharlie: @Bao: LO LOVES IT!
He doesn't seem too phased by the stacking tower or anything with blocks and matching/fitting shapes.

Take along tunes. Could never get her to play with it! She's not really into the leapfrog table or fisher price laugh and learn home either.
coconut / 8299 posts
@pinkcupcake: My daughter loves her take along tunes! She can play with it for the longest time. But she doesn't care that much about the leapfrog table. The laugh and learn home looks super cute but it kinda feels like the same concept as the table so I'm hesitant to buy it. I don't think she's really into toys that have a lot of bells and whistles.

Both my kids liked our winkle knock-off; it was the best $1 we ever spent. It is hard to say with my kids because they will ignore a toy for months then it becomes their favorite. DD ignored my pal Violet which was a first birthday gift but now at 3 1/2 she sleeps with it every night.
coconut / 8299 posts
@purrpletulips: Good to hear (about Violet). Maybe I'll put Violet away until she gets a little older and reintroduce it. And you bought a $1 winkle knockoff? I should have done that!
pomegranate / 3414 posts
@banana: my mom bought it at Dollar Tree about 8 years ago when my infant nephew was coming to visit and we realized we didn't have any bath toys for him. It has now been loved/chewed by four kids so she definitely got her money's worth.

The stupid shape sorter that I paid way too much for. I still like the way it looks, so sometimes I play with it.

@lovehoneybee: so funny. My Lo wants nothing to do with take-along tunes!!
@banana: @sorrycharlie: that crawl ball. I put it out to get ready for our yard sale and it's now M's new favorite toy. Maybe it's the batteries, but the monkey is ridiculously mechanical sounding.
coconut / 8299 posts
@mediagirl: It totally IS mechanical sounding! All of the animals kind of are though. I like the little spinning lady bug though.

E *loves* the Winkle! lol
So far, she hasn't taken to that glowing/lullaby starfish yet. It's like the new Glow Worm.
grapefruit / 4442 posts
so far the toys have been a hit because we let her pick it out. Some toys took a while to like or she just doesnt use them correctly, shape sorter and stacking rings get thrown on the floor she can do it for hours.
pomelo / 5258 posts
So far the Winkle is not a hit with LO. I don't think she's even reached for it. We got it as a hand-me-down though.

the winkle and sophie. our dog was more interested in sophie than our lo was.
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
@betsyboop: Oh yeah, he didn't really care about Sophie, either. He chewed on it once or twice when he first started teething, but that was it. He preferred chewing on fabric.
coconut / 8299 posts
@betsyboop: @lovehoneybee: Yup, not a Sophie fan in this household either!
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
@banana: I'm just really glad it was a gift and not something I spent $20 on!
coconut / 8299 posts
@lovehoneybee: I bought 2! So lame of me! My son wasn't that into but it got super worn out and dirty from being tossed around. So I bought another one, thinking my DD would love it (since half of the world does). She played with it a handful of times and now it's just sitting in her playpen gathering dust. ugh.....I hate wasting money!

Sophie and Scout! Even though Sophie went everywhere with us, it was more of me, trying to get her interested.
coconut / 8299 posts
@HLK208: LOL!! SAME! That's basically what I meant by "....it got super worn out and dirty from being tossed around". Tossing around meaning I tried to force him to play with the darn thing because it cost me $20!
coconut / 8861 posts
Sophie was good at early teething times. Now, not so much. He's not too interested in the mini piano my parents got him. Oh, he's not big on the baby maracas I got him. He prefers the older $1 ones I found at Target. Still afraid of him hurting himself with them.
coconut / 8299 posts
@cascademom: I have those $1 maracas from Target too! I love shopping in the $1 section for new toys.
