I used to have a little bit of name regret with one of our kids... just because I thought of a name I liked better (after the fact). But now I love their names, and am glad we chose the ones we did! So all in all, no name regret.

Doing ok. I love LO 2's name but many people think I threw in an extra letter to be "unique" instead of the meaning in another language.

Love DS's name! I'm a little worried we'll have name regret with LO #2 b/c he's the same gender and we already used our favorite name! We're struggling with a name for #2.

Not exactly regret, but it took me a while to love his name (and I still don't love his middle name). Both are family names, though....if his first hadn't been Evan his middle would have been Evans, and it meant SO much to a lot of people for his middle name to be Charles (my MIL's maiden name), and that made up for my ambivalence about it. I didn't have anything else in mind, though.
With this one, Grace is non-negotiable for D, and he told me last night that whether it's her first or middle he's going to call her Grace, so I figure I might as well make it a first name (I don't like when people call their children by a middle name instead of first, unless the first is a terrible family name, lol). I like Grace a lot, and think it's a beautiful name, but it's not my first choice for a first name...I was hoping for something a little...punchier? Oh well...

I don't think I have regret but I'm having trouble remembering DS's name. We didn't name him until he was born so it's just been a month. I keep drawing a blank. I hope that only means that I need more sleep.

Nope - I worried I would because a lot of people think of LO's name as a "dog name." I have only heard that a few times and I love her name even more now that it's hers. It suits her!

I love DS's name and it really suits him but seems to be more trendy than I expected which I don't love. Also, even though it is a simple name, people spell it wrong all the time. It drives me a little crazy since I have an unusual name and was hoping to spare DS a little.

Sometimes I won if we put the first and middle names in the wrong order... But his first name really fits him I think.

J's name came to me before we knew boy or girl and just felt so right. When we found that he was a boy, I just felt like I knew his name from the start.
Sometimes I wish I had used my second last name as a second middle name for him but his name would be pretty long. But it's a family name that means a lot to me and we might not have a second child to give it to.

Nope! Both names were picked years before we even conceived our first.
Does name regret for the dog count? I'm pretty sure my husband regrets the name he picked for our one dog and wish he saved it for our son.

I don't love DS's name. We named him after my dad and it's still a little weird for me to call him that name. If it wasn't my dad's name it's not something I would've picked, although it's a classic, strong, and common name.
I LOVE DD's name.

I wish I fought harder to have D1's name to be what I REALLY wanted it to be, which is Audrey. Audrey is her middle name as a result. My husband was so adamant about the names of both my daughters that I just let him have his way. When people hear of this, they're like, "You didn't get to choose the name of EITHER of your daughters?????"

I regretted the spelling of my son's name for a few weeks (it is a name that commonly can be spelled two different ways), wishing I had picked the alternate spelling, but now I don't even think about it and the name (spelling and all!) just suits him so well-- it's "him" now.

@anbanan15: dh really wanted to name his child Wrigley, after Wrigley field, but we agreed when we got married that we would name the first dog we get together Wrigley instead. I'm glad that's already decided.

@Rubies: You should just call her Audrey. I know some people go by their middle names instead of first! Don't tell your DH I said that though!

I don't have LOs, but my mother told me that she regretted my name! She said she and my dad both liked my name, but if they had thought of name X, they both agreed they would have named me that instead. They would have given that name to my sister, but it sounds too similar to my name.
This isn't it (to protect my privacy), but imagine that my name was Jessica and my parents thought of the name Jillian after I was born and like it better than Jess. Jess and Jill sounds too much like Jack and Jill, so they couldn't use Jill for my sister. Hence my parents regret naming me "Jess" instead of "Jill". At least that's what they told me.

I had slight regret over DS's name after he was born I thought people would think it's trendy or made up, but we chose it because of its meaning, and his personality fits the meaning so perfectly that now I love it. I also love the many nicknames/rhymes I get to make with his name. Now I love it and couldn't imagine him with any other name! DD's name was love at first sight, and still is!

I wouldn't say I regret the name we chose for DD2, but I'm not as THRILLED IN LOVE with it as DD1! We did 100% family names with DD1, and her first name is super unique. DD2 we felt more limited with options. The name we chose I LOVE the nickname for. But people spell both the first name and it's nickname wrong a lot. Already. And I hate that about my name already, so I feel bad for her about it. It's also more common. I wish we had a more unique option to match DD1's but I just love the nickname so much (it's what we'll call her, anyway) and honestly, DH loved it so much, I was like dude whatever WE ARE HAVING ANOTHER GIRL! DH could probably have asked to name her after his great aunt Dorcas (true story) and I'd be like whatever it's fine ITS A GIRL! (I was hoping for sisters!) I didn't have any better ideas! I love her middle name though- I should add that. It was from my family.

One of them I kind of wish we swapped first and middle names. I just don't really love the first names together but they are both named after great grandfathers so I can't really say I regret the names just I like the middle name better.

@anbanan15: My husband wishes we had saved our old dog's name for a baby too. She was named Charlie and he would have liked that for either boy or girl. She passed away a year before our kids were born and he still wanted to use the name for DD. I just couldn't imagine giving our daughter the same name as our dog!
No regrets, although I'm sometimes sad about all the names we won't get to use. We're just going to have to have a million dogs to use up my favorite names!

Just a little. I really wanted the name Sophia Grace or Ann-Marie (my sister's middle name) but my husband hated both. He really wanted another name that is nice, I just don't love it. But it seems to suit her
