Name regret?

I love DD's name, but had no idea how often it would be mispronounced. It is close to a top 10 name, and even though it is clearly a different name that is easily recognizable (and in the top 100!), it is still constantly misread/mispronounced to be the very popular name. So I have a bit of regret that she may have to deal with this, if I could have anticipated this issue I would have chosen a different name.

@Rocker2014: This exactly. Naming is hard work!

I love his nickname (which is what he solely goes by), but worry sometimes about his first name being mispronounced. I have considered changing the position of first and middle (shout out to @chopsuey for the advice), but for now I'm leaving it be.

@twodoghouse: I hate to admit this because ugh it's kind of embarrassing but my name is the same name as my dad's favorite childhood horse...seriously. He really wanted to name me Jennifer but my mom drew the line because that was his childhood dog's name. I guess a horse is okay but a dog is off limits? Ha!

I have no naming regret, both girls were my top two names. DD2 has the runner up name for DD1. It was originally off the table because I didn't want to names with the same letter, but honestly she does not fit the other name we had picked out at all!

@anbanan15: yes I can relate. Our dogs name is Dutch- which I think is an awesome nn.

No, my DH picked our DDs first and middle names- her first name only 20ish girls in the U.S. were named last year. It's unusual and I get lots of questions from people who meet her for the first time. I love it and am happy we chose it.
