I love Riley, Reese, and Jack but they are already taken but friend's kids. I also really like Morgan but it doesn't go with our last name.

Most names that end in -er we can't use because it doesn't go with our name. Hunter is one i would have considered.

Violet (friend used it), Jude (doesn't work with our last name). Anything starting with B because our last name starts with B and I just don't like it - they all end up sounding too cutesy to me!

For the most part my fav boys names have received a resounding veto...Landon, Liam, Alexander, Jackson. I scratched Landon off myself because it rhymes with a BIL.

I love the name Ellie/Elly as a nickname but it's one of my BFFs names, so DH thinks it is weird. I just love it. Nickname for Ellison or Elodie.
Other names: Anything wtih a W or an S due to last name (Willa, Willow, Wyatt, Sutton, Sailor, Stella, Sloan.)
Also, we decided against any J names due to both our first names being a J...didn't want to be matchy like that.

I like Jeremiah but hate the nickname Jerry. I also really like Benjamin but have a second cousin with that name.

Jack / Jackson- love the name but it just doesn't sound right with our last name.

Love Molly but my cousin's wife is named Mollie, also love Samantha for a girl but we have cousin Sam and baby cousin Sam (both boys).
Also love the name Twyla but I think it might just be too out there... although it does sound good as a sibling name for my Gwendolyn
Oh I also looove the name Patrick but my MIL is Pat. Wah.

I love some names that sound so similar to the name we are using! We are using Arie, and I love Arlo, Arrow, and a ton of other A names! I guess those cannot be used in the future! I super love August, but DH doesn't :(.
I also LOVE Elle for a girl, but our friends are naming their girl Ella and we have a baby cousin named Ella so I don't think I'd use it.

Anything that doesn't start with an E
I really love Beckett for a boy and Sloane and Blair for girls.

I love the name Lucas, but 2 of my college roommates named their second sons Lucas. I might still use it though if I can talk DH into it. He doesn't really like it because he doesn't like the guys that he knows named Lucas.

Rowan, Ronan, Lawson, Hudson and Griffin (I have this thing where I can't give my child a name that already belongs to someone else I know or have met) Also anything that starts with P, our last name starts with P.

@stine_ciro: tell him my DH is named Lucas and he's a great guy!! lol

Autumn, Willow, Winter, and Sage. Our last name is a plant so any of those woodsy sounding names would just sound too 'hippy-ish'.
Patrick for a boy. My husband hates it, and also my friends husband kind of ruined that name for me.

I like color names (Violet, Iris, Scarlett, Ruby) but my husband would not go for them because our last name sounds like Haze. He says Violet Haze sounds like a song about drugs...

I was ALWAYS planning on naming any daughter I had Kathryn, but Hubs has a cousin named Katherine, so I feel like I can't use it. Boo.

@LuLu Mom: I have a friend who named her daughter Eily, which I think is SOO pretty! Kind of like Elly, but not!
Quinn was in our top 5, but my sister is calling her son that, so that's out. I also love the names Avery and Sydney, but I have nieces with those names.

@Bookish: One of my parents' friend's name is Twila, never seemed "out there to me" since i've known her my whole life! ha I think it is a cool name

I like the name Lucy, but our last name is also two syllables and starts with "Lu" so I think it'd sound silly.
I also love the name Findley, but unfortunately it was my dog's name so I'd feel odd giving it to a child now.
My favourite girl name is Beatrice, but DH HATES it!

@Running Elley: I love Everly too, DH is nixing it now...but I'm holding out hope for when we actually get prengnat he will come around. It was our #2 pick for E this round so I don't know how he can decide he doesnt' like it much anymore

James (runs into our last name)
Molly (husband's ex. Grrrr)
Sarah (might use but it's my boss)
Ian (FIL's boss who his family hates)

@littlebug: How is it pronounced, eye-ly? I'm intrigued

@LuLu Mom: Haha it was our #2 as well! Fingers crossed for both of us that they come to their senses next time!

@Running Elley: I think you should name your next girl Emmaline. I LOVE it. DH, not so much.

Abby. I love the name but I had a dog named Abby when I was a kid, so it's a little weird to name a child that.
Cora, Corey, any other Cor- name, and anything that ends with a k sound. Our last name starts with Cor so I don't like them together.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
@Running Elley: Agreed! We have such similar naming styles
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
Francesca... I love it but that would mean our kiddo would have the same exact name as a cousin!
grapefruit / 4703 posts
Our last name ends with -ley so anything ending in -ley (or -ly, or even -y or -ie) sounds too matchy cutesy to me.
