I am just so heartbroken, it's been about two weeks and it doesn't make sense. From the last time I was confirmed to have it on (7:30pm on a Thursday on my sons dropcam) to the next time I went to put it on (24 hours later, Friday at 7:30pm) it vanished. I didn't leave home that night. I left the next morning around 10am but I already didn't have it on. I never sleep with it unless I forget, and I still wake up during the night and remove it because it gets too tight. I went to gym and never wear t there. Also went to get a massage so specifically remember deciding against wearing it because, obviously, I might take it off and lose it 
My nanny was the only other person in my apartment and there's just no possible way it was her. I'm afraid it was thrown down the garbage chute before we realized it was missing.
I am reading stories online about where people eventually found them but no luck. I've looked in obvious and obscure places and I'm so desperate.
I have 3 ring dishes around the apartment (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen) and I'm usually meticulous about putting it in one of those 3 places, I've never ever not known where I last had it.
Any experience? How long was it missing before you found it? Where did you find it? I'll take any advice even if it seems obvious. Maybe it's right under my nose and I'm just missing it.

My story probably won't make you feel better. My LO picked up my ring about a week after we had moved into this house and so there were still boxes around. We heard it drop but never saw it. I looked for it for about 6 months before deciding to replace it. My insurance covered it and I got an exact match to my original. I hope you find yours. I know that sickening feeling you get when you can't find something so important. There are lots of stories of rings that do turn up, and I'm still hopeful that eventually we will recover mine--maybe when we move out

We actually went out and bought my husband a new ring because we were sure we lost it. Then the next day he found it in the pocket of one of his pants.

Did your insurance give you the full appraised value?
Obviously I would so so so much rather have my original ring. But it was very expensive and it makes me sick to my stomach for that reason too. -

My husband lost his ring between our mattress and box spring while sleeping...and I know someone who lost her ring in the cat box. I hope you find it!!!

I'm so sorry! I hope you find it somewhere.
Not my engagement ring but DH's wedding band went missing one night. He thought it fell off walking the dog and retraced his steps every single day for weeks before finally giving up. A tear or so later I found it in the freezer. And we had totally cleaned the freezer out before then so I have no clue how we missed it.
I also found my step dad's ring in our back yard one time months after it went missing. -

Any chance it got washed with one of the ring dishes? Check the bottom of your dishwasher, just in case.
I know it might be hard to ask without looking like you are pointing a finger, but does your nanny know any of your LO's hiding places? Just in case LO got ahold of it and stashed it? My kids definitely have favorite hiding spots for things (and go through hiding phases....)

@SweetiePie: my mom lost her wedding ring giving my oldest brother a bath in the sink, so when he was very small. She assumed it had fallen down the drain because she looked everywhere for ages and never found it. Eventually she replaced it with a plainer wedding ring.
30 years later she replaced the plastic thing on the under the sink cabinet door where the Saran Wrap and aluminum foil were stored and her metal hit the ground- her ring had gotten stuck there way back when. Hopefully yours turns up way sooner though!
Also my DH lost his wedding ring a few months after our wedding. He was at an indoor surfing wave thing and felt it fall off. He kept on the company for weeks to look for t in the filter and they actually found it and fed exed it back.

@chopsuey: yes. Said she has seen it in the ring dish in the past but not the day I lost it. She said she'd keep looking and pray that we find it.
I know it's not what you're asking, But it has crossed my mind that maybe she took it. For a fleeting moment. She has asked us to borrow money recently (almost $1000 so I know she needs money). I just can't bring myself to believe it really was her. Even though it is one of the only theories that makes sense.
I would be destroyed if I ever found out it was her. I also recently lost an expensive pair of sunglasses but it happened around the time we moved so chalked it up to that. Unpacked all the boxes and checked my purses and it's not there. Should I be worried?!? -
Did you check your laundry machine? My husband lost his wedding ring and we thought it was gone for good, but it turned up at the bottom of the machine. I hope you find yours!

I was going to suggest checking your pockets and all the purses/wallets you might have used. It helps to trace your steps - did you do dishes? Laundry? Go outside? What were you wearing? I've found my DH's "lost@ items so many times by retracing steps!

My boss lost hers for like five months! As a kid I remember losing rings a few times and finding them years later, in the attic or under a dresser.
If you do think it might be your nanny (hopefully not!!), you could call the local pawn shops to keep an eye out and look on your local craigslist/FB BST pages.
Could it be under your LO's crib mattress? Maybe it fell off when you went to lay him down? In between a dresser drawer and the actual dresser?

@bloved: Yep, we have front loaders and I looked I the rubber gasket/seal around the door. I'll keep looking in case it's in laundry and I don't see it before it goes in!
@Modern Daisy: That's the thing, I was wearing a pair of shorts that day and PJ pants. I checked both. I didn't go anywhere with the ring on so wouldn't be in any pocketbooks.
All I did that night was sit in bed and ponder a job offer while watching TV. Then I think I loaded the dishwasher but it's hazy. I checked the dishwasher and all around and in the sink. EVery where. Nothing! -
@jedeve: Agh I know I'm so torn about this. I should check Craigslist and see if it's posted though I doubt it.
We have a dropcam in my sons room so we saw that I laid him down and straightened Up and it was on my hand the whole time. Gosh I wish I had a dropcam in every room

It's been 2 weeks now and I feel like I've looked everywhere. It might be time to call insurance and just accept that it's gone.

My inspirational/hope story: I somehow lost my MIL's wedding band she had passed down to me that was a gift from my now-passed away FIL. So, valuable and sentimental. It just wasn't on my finger one day when I woke up, couldn't remember taking it off or anything. I searched the house for several weeks but it never showed up and I was so upset to give it up as lost. TEN months later I was cleaning out my closet and on the floor in the very back corner was the ring!!! No clue how it got there but almost peed myself when I found it! So don't give up yet, there's def still hope!

This may be unhelpful advice since you have someone clean your place, but I have heard of someone finding their ring by putting panty hose over the nozzle of a vacuum and going around edges of furniture, baseboards, etc. Good luck and I hope you find it!

I've always known exactly where it was and now I just can't remember a thing. I don't remember taking it off. It's like I was brain washed! So so bizarre.

If I file a police report that it's missing do they send out anything to pawn shops? I feel like I heard that once. -
@SweetiePie: does your front loader washing machine have a filter? I found one of my rings in mine a long with a ton of change the first time I opened it to clean it. It had been missing for a year at that point.

@SweetiePie: I would file a police report, if nothing else to have something to turn into the insurance company. At least in our state, the police do fax a description to the local pawn shop companies. Sorry and fingers crossed it pops up soon! My DH lost his, and after 3 months of searching we bought him a new one and he found the old one in a pants pocket the next day (of course).

My suggestion was the bed. I always lose my ring in the middle of the night and it usually ends up in the bed or in the actual pillow case?! I don't know how it gets in there but I really hope you find it

@chopsuey: I have a ring holder on my nightstand so I put it there. I have looked very where around my bed because that is the most logical place. Nothin.
@Mrs. Deer: No floor vents. I pulled out all of my drawers and we just have one stick vac and it's not there.
