Have you felt the "nesting" urge yet? Is it a myth? I heard I should have a "burst of energy" and will feel the need to clean and organize my house. Well, I think I slept through that burst of energy. I'm 34 weeks and have yet to feel the urge.

I def had it on and off. I was obsessed with finishing and organizing the nursery, then I became even more anal about the house than usual!

Not yet. I maybe had it for an hour the morning I went to the hospital with #1. I nest for a living so I figure I get that urge eliminated at work.

@CatchAFallingStar: I love that, I think I slept throughout it too! What happens to me, is I get all intent on cleaning or organizing something, and somehow get sidetracked while putting something away or getting a supply or whatever, and start in on a totally different project! Or I move all this stuff around in the nursery trying to find spots for everything and it just ends up looking just as disorganized or worse!

I definitely have those urges. Whether I act on them is another story. I'm 37w and scrambling now

I never really had a nesting urge, but I did commit to doing a lot of cleaning and organizing in the weeks before DD was born. It was more knowing I wouldn't have time to do it again in a while though, it wasn't really an instinct. I was already a neat freak before pregnancy though lol.

Eh, if getting organized because I have to counts. I would love to be able to focus on nesting

My nesting urge kicked in around 28 weeks and was so strong! I washed, ironed and organised all the baby clothes, then I organised all the cupboards on the house, then I cleaned the house top to bottom (scrubbing skirtings, washing down walls)..... by 36 weeks, I was painting entire rooms and planting even more flowers in the front garden whenever DH left me alone!

I nest all of the time, even when I'm not pregnant, so it comes and goes. I never have the burst of energy though lol

Same as @namaste: said--I have urges like that on and off all the time. The only time I've really had energy this pregnancy was from about 28-32 weeks...I got a lot done then, but have done a lot of backtracking since. Ha!

My nesting urge was in the second trimester. By the time baby came the house was a mess and I had no desire to clean! I was cleaning bathrooms at 3 am while in labor though!

Off and on, I got in spurts, I will wake up and want to organize, my house (specifically our master closet and bathroom) are in dire need, so I'm ready for that burst to come so I can go buy containers and put everything in a place. I told my DH I wanted a label maker...I would be a happy woman with my own label maker! I'm hoping after the holiday's I get the nursery all organized and put together too. So many ideas, just need for them to come together!
