Just how big is this thing? I never lost this much with DS1. I lost bits and pieces of clear gelatinous plug a few weeks ago when I started to dilate. I had a membrane sweep 2.5 days ago, (I was 39w1d and 2.5 cm/70%). I didn't go into labor obviously but starting yesterday, I have been loosing copious amounts of dark yellow mucus plug. Globs throughout the day. I can't even believe there is any left to come out! Each one looks like a whole plug! Anyone know how big this thing is??

The biggest chunk I ever lost was the size of a golf ball.

i lost mine for about 5 days. a day before i had false labor and then daily until my water broke and real labor began.

It is sooo much! With L I lost it on a Tuesday and had her on a Saturday. I remember warning other girls in my birth month group about how much it was, it's so much more thank you think possible!

I lost parts of my mucous plug for 3 weeks. I told my husband that there was no way there could be more, but there was!

It felt like there was SO much- it just kept coming out! With M, my water broke at 3:30am and I was still having big pieces coming out at 5pm.

Ewwww to all the stories here, haha. Is it, like, soft and jelly-like, or firmer? "Mucus" and "plug" seem contradictory....

@DesertDreams88: mine looked exactly like if you blew your nose when in the midst of a sinus infection. Like you emptied your entire sinus. Big, long yellow slimy boogers. Ugh so gross. But I didn't have that with #1. With him, I just had firmer clear mucus like I had earlier with this one.

Lol, i was so excited to see mine. My husband asked to see it, too. Ahhh, romance.
I lost mine in a big clump, maybe golf ball sized or a little smaller, and went into labor like 12 hours later.
