We use our garage. I can't wait to get a house with a basement so we can use free up space in our garage for our cars.

@bluestriped bee: Do you have any attic space? In both of the houses we've owned my husband laid additional flooring (just plywood) in the attic so we could use that for storage.

We have a shed, garage, and attic space.
I hate the attic though. It doesn't have a real floor so people easily punch holes in the ceiling if they go up there. And the space above the garage is really buggy.
I mostly use closets. But for Christmas decorations, shelves on one side of the garage (we're determined to use our two car garage to hold two cars)

my parents are on a slab they had a crawl space attic above the house and garage and a storage closet under their main staircase. My dad always parked in the garage.

@Truth Bombs: I don't think we have an attic. Good question! I'll look again.

We don't have basements in TX so we have to put it in the closet or the attic

We have no basement or a garage. We use our attic and my husband has a storage space for tools and garage type stuff.

We use the attic and shelving in the garage. We really try to not let storage take over the house so we donate or pass along items often.

Closets, furniture (our dining room buffet holds the mail). We don't hold on to stuff that we don't actively need or use.

Closets, garage, and a large-ish storage room under the stairs. Oh and a shed.

Mostly in the garage and in closets. We have an attic, but it's hard to get into and DH doesn't like going in there.

This question is always fascinating to me. We don't have a basement, attic, garage, storage shed.....we just don't have extra stuff. If we don't use it often, it doesn't have a place in our home (or our lives).

We have overhead garage storage racks - our garage ceilings are high. We are able to park both of our cars on the garage.
We have all our holiday stuff, camping stuff and some baby stuff up there

Any sort of clutter really stresses me out and we live in a tiny apartment. There is a closet that had some boxes of stuff I need to sort though. Most of it is sentimental stuff that I've been carrying around for a while but it still sometimes bothers me. I'm a wanna-be minimalist

We have a basement and our garage still doesn't hold a car. We need to get rid of more stuff.

We have a basement but don't use it for storage as its a completely finished space. We use our shed and the mezzanine in our garage.

We have a few durable things in the attic. Baby stuff I keep in the closet. Otherwise, we don't let clutter accumulate. And I'm mindful not to buy things that would rarely be used.

We store along the sides of the garage, in closets, and a small area in the attic. We refuse to let stuff overrun our garage-we both want to actually park our cars in the garage and not use it for storage. We try not to accumulate too much clutter.

We didn't have a basement in Texas so everything got stored in closets or the guest room. Luckily we had a huge walk-in master closet. I didn't want things to get ruined in the extreme heat of the attic or garage.

These posts always make me feel like I'm the only person dealing with apartment/city living... I am jealous of all of you with houses, wow! Just the idea of having a garage is something I can't comprehend... all that extra storage space! For us, we just deal with the space we have (which isn't much) and get rid of everything else. I hate clutter anyway and likely would get stressed out having stuff everywhere. That being said I have no idea where we're going to store ANYTHING once baby comes. I'll probably just be sitting on top of piles of toys and blankets
