I posted on the ramzi's roundup thread...do any of you know how to interpret the ramzi method? I'm just curious

@hilsy85: thanks for checking
I have a lot to catch up on this thread!
The appointment went well, but the midwife couldn't find the heartbeat with the Doppler. She wasn't very concerned and said she doesn't always hear it this early. Thankfully I was able to get in for an ultrasound today, and everything looks good heartbeat was 163, and baby is even measuring 3 days ahead of where I think it should be.

@natalie403: yay for a great ultrasound! Great pic
@babycanuck: I'm not sure about the Ramzi method..,I tried reading about it but it was pretty confusing!

@Willow: so glad everything is ok!
Had my 12 week appt, everything looked great. Baby measured a little ahead, and HR was 159. Should have DH"s test results tomorrow thank goodness!

Just checking in! Hope everyone is well!
@hilsy85: that is great news!!
I have my 12 week appt on Wednesday and I am super nervous. I just don't feel pregnant and haven't for a couple weeks. No signs or symptoms whatsoever. No bloating and no bump. This is my first pregnancy and I'm kinda freaking out that there is nothing going on in there! I know I'm crazy. just really wish Wednesday would get here quickly.

@Bea: good luck on Wednesday! I'll be thinking of you...just remember every pregnancy is so different. With my daughter I had no symptoms nor any noticeable bump til about 16 weeks. fX for you!
Hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend! (If you celebrate) we told our families we were having a boy yesterday- everyone is super excited.

I had my ultrasound on Thursday (was supposed to be last Monday but the office called and cancelled due to doctor emergency). We opted out of any first trimester screenings and the blood test, but they were able to do a nice and detailed ultrasound of the babe and everything is looking good. I'm 15 weeks 1 day today, but baby is measuring quite a bit ahead. We found out the sex! Our third baby is a......
THIRD GIRL!!!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: congrats!
@NovBaby1112: so exciting! Glad your family had a good reaction too, sounds like a great Easter.
My MIL is wanting to share the news with her side of the family but we ended up waiting. We did an Easter egg hunt with dd and a family lunch at a restaurant (very casual) for Easter. This coming week we're moving so I have that to keep busy with while we wait still 5+ weeks to find out the sex of the baby! I think I'm way more curious this time than last and I have no idea why... I don't really have a preference!
Oh, and dd said she wants a sister, not a brother, haha.

@Bea: @NovBaby1112: @mamabolt: thanks! huge relief for sure!
@BandDmommy: ha still waiting! i thought for sure it would be today...
I go for my NT scan in 1 hour!
@Rainbow Sprinkles: so fun!!!! You make such gorgeous baby girls!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: congrats!! How exciting!
@2littlepumpkins: haha that's so funny- mine kept saying she wanted a baby brother when we asked, but I only think it's bc 2 of her "friends" at daycare have baby brothers. Hoping the next 5 weeks go quickly for you!
@hilsy85: exciting! Goodluck!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: hooray! You make beautiful girls.
@hilsy85: I'm stalking too! My guess is girl!

NT scan was great! Nuchal measurement was 1.5, and baby was moving a TON--the tech commented on it several times and said "it looks like it's doing karate chops" lol. Got lots of good pics, will try to share one on the other thread later.
No word on panorama results, and the tech wouldn't give us a guess on sex--we even got to take a 3D look at the area down there and couldn't tell at all. So we'll see!!

@hilsy85: glad the NT scan went great!! Awesome news. Too cute about the karate chops! Boo about the panorama results! Hopefully today or tomorrow! Did you get any nub shots?
squash / 13764 posts
@NovBaby1112: Not really actually! The tech really zoomed in on the genital area in 3D, and we clearly saw the "nub" (at first I was like, "Is that a penis?!") but she said it was impossible to tell what it was. Hopefully today!! I am assuming it is a boy, since almost everyone I know seems to have two of the same (except for you!) so I am coming up with boy names already

@hilsy85: Yay can't wait for you to find out! And I hear you on the same gender thing, I also feel like almost everyone I know that has given birth recently or found out the gender is having a girl! I can think of at least 8 people. So just going by that, I can guarantee I'm having a boy.

@NovBaby1112: and yesterday it was a solid "brother!" lol!
@hilsy85: yay for a good scan! Hope those results are in soon!

Went in this morning for my NT scan at the perinatologist office (my ob doesn't do them) and it turns out they no longer accept my insurance. I was so disappointed. It would cost almost $500 if we did self pay and since I'm low risk with no family history, it just doesn't make sense to fork over that kind of money. I called my OB to see if they offer any of the blood tests (harmony, panorama, etc) but the more i research, the more I find stories about false positives. I'm not sure I want to even open that can of worms!

@jodyblair: that sucks!!
I haven't heard of any false positives with the other tests though...looks like panorama's false positive rate is pretty low!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: Congratulations!
@hilsy85: I'm glad you've gotten so much good news! I'm also slightly disappointed everytime I see you've commented and I get into the thread only to see that you still haven't heard if it's a big or a girl!
squash / 13764 posts
@BelugaBean: haha I KNOW! I even just checked the panorama website and even they say 7-10 days!!

@hilsy85: Your gender results are one of the main reasons I'm checking HB so much this week! I'm hopefully finding out next Saturday during an elective ultrasound but it seems so far away so I'm just getting excited as everyone else announces!

@NovBaby1112: thanks so much for the words of encouragement!!
@hilsy85: can't wait to hear what you're having!

@jodyblair: We didn't do the NT scan with our first because it would have been around $250, I was low risk and it just wasn't something I was concerned about. Sorry you didn't get to find out until you got there. So frustrating.
grape / 91 posts
@jodyblair @hilsy85 the false positive rate is highest in the population that is low risk, it's actually being talked about quite a bit amongst the Ob/Gyn publications because the tests weren't intended for this group...my perinatologist said he would only recommended this for me (age 29 with no risks) if there was a marker that looked suspicious...

@Rainbow Sprinkles: yay!! Congrats on a sweet little girl! I was one of 4 girls growing up and my sisters are everything to me. I kind of hope this LO is a girl so DD will have a sister.
