    @cranberry: My appt is tomorrow. I scheduled it yesterday and I guess I was so eager and bit anxious that I thought Thursday was today. Yeah, today is just Wednesday.

    Well, my doctor scared me at my appointment today. (Sorry, this post is probably going to be a little long.) They said based on my ultrasound results I do have a subchorionic hemorrhage and they are concerned because I've been bleeding for three weeks and I'm going to be 19 weeks this week. They said bleeding after 20 weeks is more worrisome than bleeding before 20 weeks. She said worse case is that the bleeding gets worse and I could have a miscarriage. Or she said it could cause me to have the baby early (she even mentioned that the baby would be viable at 24 weeks, than something about 28 weeks). Or she said it could resolve itself or at least not get any worse or cause any issues and I could go on to 38 weeks or so like I did with LO1. So now I'm worried- but I don't know how worried I should be. She mentioned the full range of options from miscarriage to full term. I'm scared of a miscarriage now though. I am going back in for another ultrasound on Monday, which was scheduled to measure my cervix but now I'm hoping they can remeasure the subchorionic hemorrhage to see if its grown, stayed the same, or gotten smaller and I'm going to ask them if they are going to do any additional ultrasounds to monitor it in the coming weeks. Otherwise, my regular OB said there's nothing for me (or them) to do but wait so I don't have to go back to my regular OB's office for 4 more weeks unless I have issues or am concerned. (I do still have the ultrasound appointment scheduled for next week though.) Ughh. I don't like the waiting and worrying.

    @cranberry: Oh, no. Yeah, I would be worried, too, if my OB said all of that to me. Do you know if they are going to refer you to an MFM? Thinking of you!! I would normally say do something to distract yourself but I don't know if I could do it myself. Hugs!!

    @bluestriped bee: Thanks! They haven't mentioned an MFM at this point. Maybe they will later in the pregnancy if it hasn't resolved? I'm making a list of questions to ask at my next appointment. I'll add that to it.

    @birdofafeather: exciting!! Do you have a feeling one way or the other?

    It's probably way too soon but I started working on the nursery. Having something to focus on is keeping me from worrying about the pregnancy.

    @cranberry: that sounds so stressful, I'm sorry you are dealing with that. Hopefully it doesn't cause any problems for you and just goes away on its own soon!

    @hilsy85: @Mrs. Pickle: @NovBaby1112: @bluestriped bee: We went with funfetti to make it more festive! I think it's so funny that we have more anticipation about this baby because we decided so last minute to do an elective U/S for R! It was almost immediate gratification where here I've had the info at my fingertips for 24 hours and I still don't know! Eeeee!

    @NovBaby1112: Thanks! I'm feeling a little better now after doing some googling. It seems like a lot of the time it turns out fine. I'll have to find out more on Monday though about my specific case to see if there's a reason for me to be particularly concerned.

    @cranberry: oh mama! how scary to get such a wide range of "normal" from your OB. i hope you get more answers at your U/S next week! seems like you've gotten a lot of positive outcomes from your thread.

    @cranberry: Ugh, that sounds scary. I am so sorry you have that stress to deal with....I will be thinking about you. Fingers crossed that it's gotten smaller and will resolve itself with no complications.

    @birdofafeather: Eeek! So exciting !!
    @cranberry: thinking of you and sending you lots of good thoughts. The unknown is the scariest!

    I felt my first kicks last night! I hadn't felt anything at all before that and was getting discouraged since I am 20w, and with DD I felt movement a lot earlier. Anyway, it was 3 big jabs, large enough for Dh to feel! I was finding it really hard to stay TEam Green, but now that I feel kicks I feel a lot more connected to this little baby and am back on the bandwagon

    Hope you are all having a good week!

    @cranberry: no theme. I picked out theses fabrics to make a blanket and took my inspiration from there. I'm focusing on the pale green, blue, coral, and white. I'm going to make some curtains from the blue fabric with the large flowers on the right and I painted the walls a pale green.

    @Mrs. Pickle: Thanks.

    @cranberry: Oh my gosh, how scary. Did they say anything about bed rest? I think sch is relatively common as far as complications go so hopefully everything will be totally ok..will be thinking of you!

    @birdofafeather: Those look delicious!!! So excited for you!!

    My anatomy scan is tomorrow (regular ob's office) and I'm both terrified and excited. We were thinking about finding out the gender several different ways together, rather than at the ob's office, but we kept nixing them and I think we're back to just finding out at the appointment! My patience sucks!

  30. Mrs. Pickle

    blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts

    @2littlepumpkins: all for the blanket. I'm trying to make a quilt. I've never attempted it before so we'll see how it goes! I'll probably use one or two of my favorite fabrics from the blanket in other parts of the room.

    @bluestriped bee: Probably too late - but usually I have seen cerclages placed with spinal anesthesia, I've also seen them done with just some sedation.
