On any given day, could you work from home if you had to?

Yes. I'm staying at my current place of employment because of the singular reason that my boss promised to let me have utmost flexbility when I'm blessed with my own LO. But I know the problems that @mrsjyw: described will arise. But like she said, I'm so greatful for the flexibility. My DH has a very inflexible job, so its a must for me.

@OldEnglandMama: I'm a bench scientist, as well, but I have a laptop since I travel. I can do meetings and paperwork from home if it's a non-study day.

Nope. I'm an RN in an ICU. It would be so nice to have that option for emergencies since DH can't do it either.

Yes and no. Technically I could do most everything from home, but its critical that I'm in the office for important meetings and deadlines.

I do work from home some (planned), and sometimes unplanned (when LO is sick, etc).

techincally yes, I can remote in to my comptuer from home and have a company issued cell phone. During extreme weather we are allowed to work from home or if we have a sick child.

@bluestriped bee: Yes! That's what I'm hoping for. My previous job was all paranoid about security though and nothing could be done outside the building. I'm hoping this one is a bit more laid back. The people seem to be a little...saner So I'm hopeful

I work from home two days a week. The most I can work from home or choose to if something comes up is 3 days a week. Two days a week gives me enough time to get groceries, do laundry, and meal plan while working.

Yes, I'm a full time telecommuter anyways. I am in meetings most of the day, but I use a soft phone/webex for them. I manage a team of analysts, and communicate mostly via a group chat and IM with them.

Nope. Totally impossible. I need to access a secure government computer system, and be able to respond to other peoples emergencies wherever they happen.

Yup, half of my coworkers telecommute full time, and the ones in my local office all WFH at least once a week. I love it!
