I'm 7 months pregnant with my first, and work in an elementary school setting. Naturally, my kiddos are very interested in my pregnancy - this interest carries over with their parents, as well. While some of them are very sweet and congratulatory, I have a few that just can't stop beating their chests, and assuming I want to hear their battle stories, every time we cross paths.

I'm the last person to assume that pregnancy, giving birth, or parenting a child are easy tasks - I know I'm in for one hectic, crazy adventure. However, some of these women seem to genuinely be trying to scare me away from having my daughter. Tale after tale of horrific vaginal tears, failed epidurals, emergency cesareans, and a pain they'll "never, ever forget". One even said, "Believe me, you'll never want to go through that again. That's why one child was more than enough for me!" Ooookay, lady.

I'm not sure what these women expect me to say; "You know what? You're totally right. I think I'm just going to opt out of giving birth, and figure out a way to send this kid back where she came from. Thanks for the heads up!"

Oh, it just cracks me up. Anyone else endure equally *awesome* comments on the regular?
