Do you know a lot of people who have one of each gender? Almost everyone I know that has two kids either has two boys or two girls, every single time. Is one of each some kind of golden unicorn? It seem like one boy/one girl is always what is portrayed in media, but I don't see it very often in my life.

Looking at my family, we have way more double/triple girls than one of each, however on DH's side the majority of them have one of each! Most of my friends are only on baby number one, so it will be intresting to see what happens!

Hmmmm. I don’t know many people with just two kids (most of my friends/family have 3) but my cousin who has 2 does have one of each! Most of the people who I know that have 3 kids have 2 of one gender and then 1 of the other.

my brother and I are that way - just the two of us for my parents!

I never really though about it but my family and all my aunts and uncles on both sides have one of each!

My oldest is a girl, and my youngest is a boy; we hope to have a third in the future, but we don't care what that one will be.
In my mommy friends group, I have two friends with two girls, one friend with a boy and pregnant with a girl, and four friends with one of each. I guess it's common in my circle!

Looking at my family and friends, we are the only ones with one of each. My sister is about to give birth (in less than 1 month) and she's team green and already has a daugther, so maybe Mavrick will have a boy cousin. Because right now he's alone. I'm sure he doesn't mind seeing he's already a ladies man!

most of my friends have one of each. i can only think of one that has two boys! my brother and i are one of each as well....

it's such a mix for all my friends and family, but it's definitely not a golden unicorn to have a least one of each... but one of my best friends is 1 of 4 girls! her dad loved it, but absolutely dotes on his only grandson!

There is actually a lot in my family that only has two kids and one of each....never really thought about it though.

Most 2-kid families I know have two of the same gender.

In both my family and my husband's family one of each is definitely the most common pairing.

I can think of several families with all girls or boys and several with a mix. I find that when someone already has two of the same sex and goes for the third, most often they wind up being the same too.

Both of my good friends with kids have one of each, I have another friend who has a girl and is pregnant with a boy now. A fourth friend has a girl and she's 10 weeks pregnant, it will be fun to see what she has. Most of my cousins have two of the same gender though, and one has one of each.

I belong to a 1 girl 1 boy set of siblings and my hubby is one too, so hoping there is something genetic behind it

it was my brother and myself (one of each). i have one of each (twins!). most of my friends have either 3 or 1.... the one that has 2 has one of each.

Most of my friends have 1 of each. I do have a friend with 3 boys, but otherwise most have a boy and girl. Now that we have 2 girls, so many people say, "Are you going to go for the boy?".
It would be great to have a boy, but it's not necessary for us.
