From all I can tell, bikini waxes seem to be safe while pregnant, but is it any more painful than usual? I have gotten to the point where I can't quite see what is going on down there and I (and hubs) normally prefer to be pretty bare.

I got waxed at about 34 weeks because I knew I wouldn't have time for it once the baby came. It was surprisingly less painful than normal for some reason...

I had one in my first trimester when I was still on a crazy hormone roller coaster and it really didn't feel any different. Have fun!

I've been getting waxed regularly and it doesn't hurt more than usual. The key is to keep doing it every 4-6 weeks, so the growth is minimal and will be less painful than if you let it all grow in .

Do not, I repeat, do NOT let it go with the intent of getting rid of it in week 35 as I just did. Owie. Owie. Owie. And I've been waxing for over 10 years now...just don't let it go!

I compromised by stealing my hubby's beard trimmer and making use of a full length mirror. Less painful than waxing, and close enough to get the job done. And I make sure to sanitize it after, so the hubs doesn't find out!

Gah, I need to do this, but have been putting it off. I heard from a girlfriend that if the waxer knows you are pregnant they won't do it. Anyone else heard of this??

My appointment is tomorrow and I mentioned that I am 23 weeks when I scheduled it and they did not say anything. I'll report back tomorrow about any issues.

I'm being induced tomorrow night so I figured just a nice clean trim with the Hubs beard trimmer. I figure it will be a little more comfortable for me while I recoup with the hair growth.

i had a monster growing down there as i don't wax and just trim. in fact the monster is still there. you just can't see past your belly once you're in your third trimester to trim down there!

UPDATE! Just had my waxing appointment and it was no more painful than a normal wax. Maybe even a little less because she was trying to go fast because I was pregnant? My aesthetician said I could come in up until right before delivery.
Thanks to all the ladies who commented and took away my fear!
