We are leaving very soon to go to Playa Del Carmen for vacation. However, I noticed that although the weather says it's beautifully sunny and warm for today and tomorrow, the weather report states it is going to rain (80-90% precipitation) and have thick clouds and thunderstorms for all the days we are there.
But, when booking the trip, I read that there is only one day of rain on average in June!
Has anyone been to this area in June? Was there sunshine or rain?

I went in june of 2005. No rain at all. That was my fav trip out of all my trips. But the weather everywhere has been freaky lately!

We went last year beginning of May and had 1-3 days of a little rain, but truthfully, it wasn't even that bad!! Still very warm and we just stayed in the pool since there wasn't any lightning!!

We went this exact week in 2010 for our honeymoon and again last year for our anniversary. In 2010, we didn't see any rain at all. Unfortunately last year it rained at least a little every day. We were told that's pretty typical for this time of year. But it's tropical rain and clears as fast as it came - no washouts. Enjoy! I'm so jealous!

We went for our honeymoon and that area always says rain or clouds every day. It was hot! No rain! I think it's just typical of tropical areas, enjoy!!!

I went to Playa Del Carmen a couple times (though several years ago) with my family. It did rain several days during our times there but it wasn't the whole day or anything - it would go away quickly so it didn't ruin our vacation or anything. There were several cloudy days though. That's normal for that region at this time of year.

We were there in July of 2013 for our honeymoon. I think it rained for an hour maybe of the 5 days we were there. It was while we were driving back from our excursion, so it didn't affect us at all.

We went to the Rivera Maya in April of 2010 for our honeymoon. The forecast said rain for the first 3 days we were there. We were bummed when it did rain when we got there. We stayed at the resort the first two days but it was suggested to plan some excursions for the third rainy day. We went to Tulum and once we left the resort area, the weather was perfect. I would suggest planning excursions if it is actually raining at the resort.

We went late June 2011 and it rained maybe once for 10 minutes. Clouds moved out super quick!

I went late June and it rained hard 2 out of the 5 days I was there. It was slightly overcast/sunny on the other days.

We went in late May 2010 for a week. We had one day of serious thunderstorms and a little bit of rain on a couple other days. We were still able to do most of the stuff we'd planned, and the storm was really cool from inside a little beach cabin!

This makes me feel a little better. I hope that if it rains, it's just in short spurts. I want to spend the whole trip by the pool and on the beach!

not totally related, but i went to Cuba July 3 once and it was apparently hurricane season....it rained hard core maybe twice and lasted about 5-10 mins each time.

We've been to PDC 5 times - once in Jan, once in Sept, and 3 times in May/June and it's never rained for more than an hour or two at a time. Hope you have fun! It's our favorite place.
