All I have been able to think about ALL DAY is buying a small ice cream cake, getting a big spoon, and having my way with it.
It is taking all of the will power I have not to grab my keys and run to the store.
Talk me out of it! I want one soooooo bad!

@mrbee: Carvel ice cream cake (I don't know if it is regional). It is chocolate on the bottom, vanilla on top, with delicious chocolate crunchies in the middle.

I've found that personally if I try to avoid temptation, I end up snapping at eating more than I would have if I just let myself in the first place! lol!

The only way I know to control my cravings is to rule out whole categories of food. I haven't had ice cream in years, even though I absolutely love it! Just knowing that ice cream isn't an option takes all the temptation out of it for me!

I would totally jump off the ledge with you, and apparently, a bunch of other bees would too! haha! Too bad we don't all live in real life community because then you so could and we'd all help take a few bites to help lessen each other's guilt!

I've started trying to eat better the past couple of days so this seems even more tempting to me than it normally would! Although DH's birthday is in a couple of weeks and he already put in a request for ice cream cake.

@mrbee: Haha I do the same thing... when I'm not pregnant. Like I generally do not eat fast food (McD's, Taco Bell, Chick Fil A, etc) because I know I don't make wise choices there. I don't bake cookies b/c I know I'll eat the entire batch in 2 days. Things like that

I'm no help, I'd totally go for it. When I was 7 months pregnant I made DH go out and get me a small Carvel cake and I ate the entire thing in one sitting. It was awesome.

@MamaMoose: try Daiya dairy free cheese. I don't like it on its own but melted into eggs or on a taco it's not so bad and it does the trick.

It's so weird reading all of the comments that say go for it--usually the lunch/dinner posts are full of such healthy eating options! Glad everyone seems to be relaxed about dessert.

So, I think a slice is OK, but you asked to be deterred and nobody else is helping, so here goes (I'm being brutal):
Think of all the preservatives in that cake. HFCS, potentially hormone-ridden cream, eggs from chickens who sit in their own filth pecking at each other... Sounds disgusting now, huh?
(And for the record, I know nothing about Carvel or whether or not these things are true, they are merely ideas to talk her out of it, as requested!)
