Ughhhh....I think I have to schedule a dentist visit I still have my wisdom teeth because they are straight, have room and 3/4 are already out, but the one in the lower right was always half under my gum and I think it's cutting the gum, I can see it more, but I feel like I'm teething...lol I feel pressure and the gum is a little swollen, I just want to make sure there is no infection...... but I HATE the dentist, and are going to freak out if they have to do any work, I don't want it to hurt the baby. ......

    cantaloupe / 6086 posts

@FaithFertility: definitely go now - they can probably do something not too invasive at this point - but if it gets awful they might have to do something more serious! my dentist was really good about what was necessary vs not while pregnant last time. and they know how to handle it if they do have to do something. an infection is probably much more dangerous to the baby than a procedure. I hope it's an easy fix!!

I feel like I haven't kept up on the boards at all but I am pretty much in survival mode until July, when I am hoping m/s will be gone, since things are busy at work and lots to do with the new house! I need to call the OB about setting up my 12-wk screening which is definitely an exciting milestone

@bhbee: Yay to 12 week apt!!!

They say I need the tooth pulled its a wisdom tooth that is not impacted but rubbing on gum and the cheek so it keeps getting infected, its not too bad, but he said to do it ASAP! So in I go next Thursday, he swears it will be easy since the tooth is already out and has a short root....but I am only allowed Novocain ...blahhh.......

I forgot my pharmacy closes early on Saturday and I'm out of progesterone. I went to another pharmacy, knowing they probably couldn't refill it, but I wanted to try. No luck. The woman was nice, but my eyes filled up with big, pregnant woman tears. I hope it's ok to miss tonight's dose.

@Happygal: One night should be OK. If you go first thing in the morning, you could put it in then, and be OK doing it at night too. I think I saw it only lasts 4ish hours in the bloodstream? That could be wrong though. And remind me how far along you are?

@Mrs.Someone: thanks. I have only had 1 really short LP, so this seems mainly to be extra careful. I worry about the abrupt stop though. I'm 8 weeks, 1 day today.

@Happygal: I think it's fine, but if you're worried, call your on-call doc for a prescription to a 24hr pharmacy?

@FaithFertility: I hope the procedure goes quickly!

@Happygal: I think it will be ok! My re always told me for most people it's basically voodoo anyway. I understand though, I have 2 days left (they told me to just stop when I run out) and while it's nice to have less to deal with it's a little nervewracking too!

  21. FaithFertility

    eggplant / 11861 posts

@Happygal: awwww you will be fine I almost had that happen to me and my RE said a day or two isn't going to kill ya!

It is so nerve racking, but that progestrone sticks believe me

Hope you get it fast so no more worries! I cried once because I forgot to take my pre natal and woke up freaking out

My tooth feels better having it pulled Thursday

@Happygal: @FaithFertility: @Mrs.Someone: @tequiero21: Thanks ladies. I'll admit I had myself mentally prepared for bad news, but I'm so, so grateful this little bean is healthy and strong. I'm still a little worried about miscarriage but I feel a lot more confident we will be bringing home a baby in February.

@FaithFertility: Glad you are feeling better! I'm starting to feel worse. I have more nausea and I'm having trouble figuring out what sets it off. I know if I get too hungry I get nauseous, so I try to eat every two hours. Then last night I had Chipotle because it sounded soo good and I felt terrible afterwards. I will take all the weirdness tho, if it means baby is healthy and growing.

    @MrsTal: yay!!!!!!!

@FaithFertility: yay to you too on avoiding the tooth pulling!

I think I decided at 10 weeks to take this pregnancy seriously (though I'm still nervous, don't get me wrong). I got out my maternity clothes from #1, picked out the summer stuff and washed it. I finished my progesterone on Sunday and - the scarier one for me, since it was the one thing that was different for my BFP - I'll run out of metformin later this week and I'll stop that too. I keep reminding myself that by 10 weeks, the baby is supporting itself, only a developmental issue would cause something to go wrong now.

Praying for good things to come - I have my NT scan (and fetal DNA blood screen, being testing addicts we opted for both) on July 1 at a specialist and then get to hear the hb at the OB on July 2. So assuming all is well that will be a fun week, and we'll find out the gender early this time!

@bhbee: Yay, to all your big updates!!!!! No more progestrone..;)
    Yay for upcoming apts

    honeydew / 7968 posts

@MrsTal: I don't think we ever get over the worry, but it does feel more real!

@FaithFertility: it's a vicious cycle! I find when I'm hungry or too full, I get sooo nauseous. Even now, in my third trimester!

@bhbee: I stopped at 9 weeks and I know 10 weeks is normal! Woo hoo! That's one step closer to the end of the tunnel!

  35. Happygal

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@FaithFertility: that's so great about the tooth! Hope you're enjoying the summer break.

@bhbee: I'm praying for those good things for you, too. Are you liking your new OB? Making friends?

So you guys stop progesterone around 10 weeks? I'm so ready to be done with it. My OB said I could go until 12 and I wanted to roll my eyes and pout. I take a type that is bright pink, and even with panty liners, I think the majority of my underwear is ruined. And there have been so many times that I go to the bathroom and have to remind myself that the bright pink I'm seeing is from the medicine. It's groooooossss.

Gosh, so whiny. Sorry. Other than the progesterone, things are going well! My husband is convinced I'm actually pregnant with twins and is so excited. At 5 this morning, we were both awake and I said something about my back being sore. He said, "That's b/c you're pregnant with twinsies!" and smiled before falling back asleep. He's going to be so disappointed if it really is just one!

  36. bhbee

    cantaloupe / 6086 posts

@Happygal: aww that's so funny about your husband! I think 10 weeks or so is pretty normal to stop because that's when the placenta is making hormones (so also when some people start to feel better). Unless you have a known issue I'd think you could ask about stopping early?

  37. Mrs.Someone

    pomelo / 5228 posts

@Happygal: I went until 12, but my ND said to go to 10. My OB said anytime between 10-12, when I really just wanted a date. I had the yellow kind, which doesn't sound as gross as yours! So I think its safe to stop at 10 if your doctor says its OK. And when is your next US to check for those twinsies?

  38. Happygal

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@Mrs.Someone: @bhbee: thanks! I'm going to consider this my last week(ish) of progesterone then! That makes me so happy.

@Mrs.Someone: I am a little confused about the scheduling. I asked my OB when my husband should come to my next appointment, and he said the one that will be in about 8 weeks, so I'm assuming that's an ultrasound appt. Although he said that if they can't hear the heartbeat at my next appt. on July 17th, he'll send me for an ultrasound.....so I guess he'll just be listening for things on the 17th? I feel so naive about this, but it's all new to me!

I'm going to ask my friend who sees the same OB what the normal ultrasound/appointment schedule is for the practice. I had gotten so used to having an ultrasound every time I went to the RE that I was surprised that it didn't happen at the OB.

  39. Mrs.Someone

    pomelo / 5228 posts

@Happygal: That seems so far away! Are you having the NT scan? Or are they doing Maternity-21 for you? I certainly wouldn't wish for the doctor to not be able to find the heartbeat, but at 16w my doctor had trouble finding it so she whipped out the US machine

  40. Happygal

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@Mrs.Someone: I think we'll do the NT scan. This doctor only does 1 ultrasound for a normal pregnancy! He is partnered with a midwife, and they're known for being more conservative with this stuff unless there's a known risk factor.
