@Torchwood: I totally get where you're coming from. I would be SO frustrated...and I think that people (caregivers) who haven't experienced loss may be relatively insensitive to your NEED to know that everything is okay. Maybe you could appeal to your midwife for an earlier scan or Doppler? If not, I hope the next couple of weeks pass quickly for you!

Tomorrow's my almost-10 week ultrasound...and after feeling really guarded about this for the last week and a half, I'm starting to feel a little more positive. I don't have any indication that anything is wrong...it's just that my symptoms are so very mild/bordering on non-existent and I've had so much crappy news at ultrasounds in the past (including finding out about a m/m/c at 11weeks).
Did anyone (everyone?) else feel like this in the first tri? Please wish me luck for tomorrow afternoon!

@FliegepilzHut: Good luck! I started feeling good last week and started telling a few people. Then I immediately started feeling scared again. We have an appt tomorrow to hear the heartbeat. I haven't been able to find it on my own with the doppler, so that's basically scaring the crap out of me. I'm still scared something has happened (I'll be 12w on friday). I think it's normal to have the scared feelings come and go. It's better than them being there all the time! FX for your appt!

@ValentineMommy: Thanks! Hopefully you'll feel much better after your appointment tomorrow! Almost out of the first trimester!!!!

@FliegepilzHut: I hope so!!!!! I'm exhausted of being scared/nervous all the time. I also think once we start feeling movement that things will feel better.
ETA: It also doesn't help that today is/was my edd for my loss.

@ValentineMommy: I'm so sorry. I may have a moment in late March...but that baby was never meant to be...and hopefully ( ) I'll be very pregnant by that point! Hugs to you!!!

@ValentineMommy: @FliegepilzHut: Thinking of both of you ladies. Hopefully you both get wonderful news at your ultrasounds.
I had a heartbeat check last Friday, and she found it right away. I'm also feeling kicks on rare occasions (now 17w4d). I'm in Hawaii right now, and our anatomy scan is the day after we return (January 27th). I feel like I'll be able to relax after that. But also, I feel VERY pregnant these days (and look it, too), which helps me believe it's real. Unfortunately, it also means back pains and very little sleep, but I'll take it!

@Jess1483: That sounds wonderful! Enjoy Hawaii! Wishing you a great scan on the 28th!

@ValentineMommy: I am so with you on being just worn out with being worried. I try really hard to be positive, but then I keep dreaming that I've started bleeding. Dreamed it again last night. I wake up in the worst mood after that. And I hate that even things like sexy times make me nervous because it can cause spotting (which isn't a bad sign, but it would freak me the eff out). I'm just having a hard time enjoying being pregnant these last couple of weeks. Hoping to feel movement sooner than later, and that hearing the heartbeat next week will help. And we should get our genetic screening reaults very soon. Maybe I'll feel better once we know everything looks good on that front. Plus, we'll find out the sex! That has to help, right?
@Jess1483: Jealous of the feeling pregnant and Hawaii! We're going on a cruise when I'm about where you are, and I'm excited. Hope you have a wonderful time and that your anatomy scan goes perfectly!

Omg ya'll, I got my screening results!!! I really can't tell ya'll the sex before DH, that's just wrong, but everything looks good!! Totally low risk on everything!!! I'm so so SO relieved, and SO excited to know what it is! I really hope this relief/excitement carries me through for a good while! Especially once I hear the heartbeat next week! (Though dear god it'll be a lot worse if something goes wrong now, so send me all the positive thoughts you can spare!)

@Torchwood: That's wonderful! I'm hoping to have my screening tests drawn early next week!
DH and I got a great view of our wiggly LO with brand-new arm and leg buds today! I'll be 10weeks tomorrow!

@FliegepilzHut: Yay! No more ultrasounds for us till the anatomy scan, I think. Debating whether to ask for one sometime in between for peace of mind.

@Torchwood: awesome!!! So happy for you that you got good results. One more HUGE milestone behind you!
@FliegepilzHut: and so happy for you, too, lady, that you & DH got to see baby!
Despite the worry that does set in, these positive points during pregnancy sure do feel especially sweet after losses & deserve celebration! I kind of wish we had another look coming sooner than March, but at least I've been feeling baby girl move. That has been awesome, even though it isn't all that often yet. I'm at 21w. Grow baby girl, grow!

@GoGoSnoGirl: Hooray for feeling baby move! Wishing you all the best!

@FliegepilzHut: Yes! He apparently totally forgot we'd be getting the results this week (how do you forget that?!), so he had no idea. I was a little worried he'd suspect because I was whining at him to come home earlier than he has been, but nope! Total surprise. I win!

@Jess1483: Enjoy Hawaii!!! That's fantastic!
@FliegepilzHut: @Torchwood: We won't have a scan until March because we had the cell-free dna instead of sequential screening. I wanna see those little arms and legs! Wah lol
@Torchwood: Yay, congrats!

@ValentineMommy: Hey there! Did you get your results?
I had my blood drawn yesterday for early screening... 8 days until my next check-in and I am so ready to be out of the first trimester! I have started to update some close friends...but then I start to feel nervous again and think "what if".....
pomelo / 5607 posts
Sorry for the delayed reply!
@ValentineMommy: Same here, no more ultrasounds till March. As glad as I am that we did the screening, I hate that it means not seeing LO for so long!
@FliegepilzHut: We announced officially once we heard the heartbeat on Wednesday, but I'm definitely still having the "what if..." thoughts. I really wish we could somehow wait till after the anatomy scan, but given that I'm already showing enough that family would notice, I couldn't have pulled that off. I kinda hate not having the secret anymore. I didn't think I'd like waiting, but it was fun. We did at least get a really enthusiastic response, which was nice.
Anyone else struggle with bad dreams during all this? It seems like hearing the heartbeat might have finally calmed my worries about miscarriage enough to stop the dreams that I've started bleeding, but now they're replaced with others. Some are minor, like the baby is here and breastfeeding isn't working (a recurring one for me, I think I put too much pressure on myself about breastfeeding) or I realize we still aren't even close to ready, like we're in the car with her and I suddenly realize we have no carseat. I had those kinds of dreams all the time before my wedding, so not surprised. But some are actually really upsetting, like last night I dreamed we had the anatomy scan and something was wrong. It wasn't even anything real ("Nolan Syndrome" which I assume is my brain's way of trying to make something that sounded real like Turner?), but it freaked me out and I woke up really upset. I know it's normal to have dreams about things that are causing anxiety, and I've even read that it's good for you (your subconscious is working out your fears that you aren't processing well while awake?), but I hate it! I'm not even thinking about the baby before I go to sleep, but it doesn't help. I start out dreaming about something else, and at some point (usually after I get up to pee for the ten gazillionth time) it switches to baby/pregnancy. It's not every night, but it's way too many. Not really looking for anything here, just venting.
Anyway, how is everyone doing? Things still going well, I hope?

@FliegepilzHut: Baby boy is still kicking up a storm in there! Can't believe I'm 13+ weeks now. It still feels unreal. Everything was good with my cell-free DNA test - low risk for everything!
@Torchwood: I have been having some wicked bad dreams, with a lot of blood in them. I seriously think I have some kind of PTSD for the amount and duration of bleeding I had with my miscarriage. I still think about it every time I go to the bathroom. I'm sorry you're having bad dreams too
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@ValentineMommy: That's lovely!
@Torchwood: No bad dreams here...but weird and vivid. I'm also a believer in dreams being a productive way for your subconscious to work through anxieties.
Today-- I am grateful that:
1) My cell-free DNA screening was low-risk...and tomorrow DH and I will find out gender!
2) Tomorrow, I should be able to see/hear LO again!
3) I'm 11weeks and 5days...almost done with the "highest risk" portion of my pregnancy!!!!
How are you all doing? Is there anything you're particularly grateful for...or looking forward to?

just sending some ya'lls way
I am trying not to think about my test results as I don't know when we are getting them back and also trying not obsess about stuff before our anatomy scan on the 13th of February.
My dreams are out of control, most are of the baby being born with a problem that I caused oh subconscious but every time I feel a little tickle or roll it makes me feel better

Had my anatomy scan yesterday. Everything looked wonderful and it's a boy! He is super active, which helps this worried Mama. Still measuring a bit ahead, although I'd be shocked if my dates were off. But could be!
I am feeling so much better after yesterday. It was a huge weight lifted. Plus baby foot!

@FliegepilzHut: did you find out yet?!? So glad everything was low risk!!!
@Mrs. Pickles: I'm sure everything will be fine!!
@Jess1483: yay for two boys!!! And what a cute foot that is

@Torchwood: I dreamt earlier this week I was losing teeth! Not sure what that was about...
@ValentineMommy: glad things are going well & you're feeling baby kick! It took a while for me to get to that point, but now I feel her kicking every day & I love getting those "check-ins" from her!
@FliegepilzHut: so happy to hear things are still going well for you & you've gotten great news & another peak at baby!
@Mrs. Pickles: back at you! Hope you get results soon & time flies until your next appointment!
@Jess1483: yay, !! And super cute foot view!
I'm just hanging out at 23w feeling baby girl kicking & growing. On one hand time is flying by & I'm nervous about being ready for her to get here, & on the other it feels like it's dragging & I can't WAIT to meet our little angel!

@Jess1483: Incredibly cute! Congrats on a good anatomy scan!!!
My OB couldn't find the heartbeat on doppler...so we did a quick ultrasound. Baby is doing well, growing right on track and active! And it's a boy!
@ValentineMommy: @Jess1483: Thanks for the good thoughts, ladies!
@GoGoSnoGirl: Thinking of you! Hopefully the time will continue to fly by!

How's everyone doing?
I've been feeling a little nervous...for no good reason other than my very waxing/waning bump-iness! I did get to hear LO's heartbeat last week, though, and that was nice. I just wish the satisfaction (and relief of knowing everything's good in there) lasted longer!
