St Louis City signed 4 same-sex marriage licenses yesterday and our mayor stood by as all four couples said their vows. It's a step in the right direction. 
The city is saying they are prepared to fight the legal battle all the way up. Missouri was the first state to pass a gay marriage ban.

Hooray StL!!
It's world pride in Toronto this weekend and I'm trying to find family friendly events to attend with DD. We always used to go to the parade, but there's a bit too much nudity for young eyes.

Um, on an unrelated note, my aunt also says STL is getting an IKEA, which I think is also a reason to celebrate??

@Bookish: They broke ground on Monday, I think! haha. It's due to open Fall 15. And yes, also cause for celebration. And honestly, I never expected MO to do this. In the article, they quote our mayor as saying that is St Louis wasnt going to do it, no one would. Thats totally true, St Louis is a liberal bastion (along with KC) in an other wise red state.

I remember being weirdly proud that our marriage license came from the same city hall as the very first gay marriages in the US.
