Since W is only 17 months old and isn't great at communicating that he needs to go (he just holds it well enough that as long as the potty is offered to him regularly he doesn't have accidents) I wanted to get him cloth trainers for after we do the three day method but HOLY COW THEY'RE EXPENSIVE!! So, I made my own 
Less than $2.75 versus over $10 a pair for buying "cloth trainers" thank you very much!

He is so cute! What an aswesome idea to make them yourself. We use cloth so I'd love to hear how you made them, and how you get him to use the potty at 17 mos. Impressive!

@brownie: there's a layer of PUL and a cut out of a cheap pre-fold diaper in each trainer.

@blackbird: he's already at the point where if I remember to ask every once and a while the only dirty diapers he has are when he's sleeping. Today he peed on the potty, I asked if he was finished and he tried to go and farted (and proceeded to start giggling and celebrating), I asked again and he tried again but nothing happened so he signed finished and I got him down. I think HE'S more ready to be potty trained than I am, lol.

Ah that's great! My friend HAD to potty train b/c you have to be trained at 3 years old for the on-base daycare, otherwise he wouldn't get to go there. Yikes, scary. But he took to it well. Hopefully you have the same experience!
