So I made an amazing chocolate cake today and I don't want to eat it all myself (although, I totally would being 40 weeks pregnant, lol!). So I was thinking of bringing in a slice for my awesome Dr and nurse. Would that be really weird? It's my last appointment tomorrow because I have an induction scheduled for next week if I don't go into labor by then. I'm not really sure how to go about bringing it in though. Just go into the waiting room with 2 plates of chocolate cake? Haha.

But nah, I'd leave it at home. I hear from a lot of Drs and nurses that they don't really eat most home baked goods from patients. So dig in without guilt.

@indi: OK, I had that thought that too about them not eating homemade goods. I'm totally fine with nomming on this myself.

I brought brownies in to my midwife at my 6 week pp visit. I like to think she enjoyed them!

I would take it in. If they don't eat it, at least they know that you thought about them. However, this may totally be cultural thing. I live in a pretty rural, traditional area and I don't think it would be that weird around here.

I bought in a huge platter of treats for my midwife and the nurses just after I had my son- they loved that I was so thoughtful and it felt good to acknowledge all they did for me

ehhh I'd probably not. I think I'd be more inclined to take like, a box of cookies or cupcakes they could share with the whole office and that don't require a fork to eat.

As a nurse, I can say we don't generally eat things that come from patients that aren't packaged or wrapped up from a bakery or similar place. So eat up!

@Mae: haha, it's actually just the recipe for chocolate cake on the back of the Hershey cocoa powder container! It's a really great chocolate cake recipe.
I think I'll skip bringing it in. I think I'll bring them cake pops or cookies from my favorite bakery instead at my 6 week post partum appt. So yay, more cake for me! Lol.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: I brought my dr cupcakes at my 6 week check up. At my one week checkup, my dad sent me with a ton of Chinese food that he cooked. My dr was an old family friend and my dad wanted to show his appreciation.
