I'm co-hosting my sister-in-law's shower in October, and I'm wondering about the invitation timeline. I'm designing the invites, but I'm not sure when they should go out. The shower is October 16th -- when would you send them?

I always like invitations to go out 4-6 weeks in advance. I just know how people are so busy these days, I want to make sure to give plenty of notice.

Traditionally, small party invites go out 4 weeks in advance. If the party is on a holiday weekend or if you have a lot of people that will need to travel to attend, I'd lean toward the 6 week mark!

My shower host was a little excited so the invites have already gone out for my shower on 10/14...but there are quite a few that need to travel.

I agree with the others - roughly 4-6 weeks before the party is when invites should go out!

I like around 4 weeks . . . sometimes much more than that makes it seem like it's too far out/away.

I would send them a month in advance. My shower was super late (when I was 37 weeks) and the invites were sent 2 weeks in advance

My invitations were sent out July 27, the RSVP date was Aug 20. My shower is on Sept 9.
[EDIT: yesterday I received an invite for an Oct 6 baby shower. The RSVP date is Sept 28.]

Iw ould send them out beginning of sept and rsvp date by oct 1
my invites were sent out middle of july and rsvp date by sept 1
my shower is sept 16 -
thanks everyone! i'm going to work on them this week, and hopefully have them out friday or monday. maybe i'll give you guys a sneak peek of what i come up with!

in the summer I would send them 6 weeks earlier... any other time, a month should be sufficient!
