The thread about DH's not being interested in feeling baby move got me thinking. I have not let anyone besides DH and my sister feel LO move in my belly. I have not once let another person touch my belly. I just really don't feel comfortable with people touching me even if they are actually trying to feel LO. Do you let people touch your belly/feel LO move?

Im pretty open about it. But did feel weird when strangers at church and work would come up to me and touxh my belly wo askobg. Weird. I was too caught off guard to back away.

Yes but only of they ask and if I'm relatively close to them.

Yes, a few close friends and their kids have asked if its ok and I said yes. There was once a stranger who just put her hand on my belly and I was annoyed at how rude that was! I wanted to reach over and touch her (non pregnant) belly but I didn't ;P

I've had a few people who've wanted to, but they've asked first. If they ask I don't mind. So far, I haven't minded.

All the people who’ve tried have asked first so I don’t mind. I would mind if they just put their hands on me without asking. I also wouldn’t feel comfortable with strangers doing it. The only people who have felt LO move are DH, my sister and MIL.

No strangers asked to feel it, thank god. My MIL loved touching it, and one of my coworkers. I wasn't really that comfortable with it though. I don't like people touching me....personal space issues I guess!

My mom, grandma, SIL, MIL, FIL, and dad felt her the most other than DH of course.
I had a few people touch my belly that I'm not close to. Not to feel her move, just to touch it. I always thought that would really freak me out, but it didn't bother me at all.

I don't recall anyone asking or trying to touch my belly with my first pregnancy. With this pregnancy I've had one person at church reach out and pat my belly (without asking first) and one child do the same. Both times I didn't say anything but subtly moved back from their touch.

I'm pretty relaxed about it...I've let a bunch of friends touch the belly, and pretty much any family that wants to. I've never had a stranger try--I don't think I'd be okay with that!

I went to a games night last night, and an acquaintance touched my belly!
It was my first unsolicited belly touch!
Part of me was actually happy about it, because it means someone thinks I'm showing, vs just fat. -
I avoid it whenever I can, including with close family, because they're the ones that touch without permission. I'd probably be fine with it if I was directing them so they could feel baby kicks. DH is the only one I actually like touching my belly!

I've had a couple of friends just go ahead and do it. It was fine. My one friend is kinda hilarious and she was feeling all around going, "oh, yes. Nice, hard uterine walls." And it made me laugh really hard. So that was a funny one.
If a stranger went for it I don't know what I'd do. So awkward.

I was really weirded out by it at first. Now I don't mind close family and friends if they ask. With my DH not very interested, I get kind of excited when someone else wants to feel. What I don't like is my MIL & FIL who touched my belly with out asking and there was no belly to even feel!

I thought this would REALLY freak me out, but so far it hasn't bothered me too much. I work in a hospital, and a bunch of the nurses and staff have touched my belly. I work with them on a pretty much daily basis, so it doesn't bother me. The only "stranger" was a patient, but she was someone I had spent a LOT of time providing counseling for her when her husband was a patient here, so we had a pretty good relationship, and she's also the cutest little 70-something year old lady you'd ever see, so that didn't bother me, either. A total stranger? I don't know.

If I know them, it's ok. If I don't, not okay! Even the other day I was leaving the hospital after pre-reg, and this lady was like, "Ma'am! Ma'am! Can my daughter touch your belly?" So...I felt kind of weird NOT letting this little toddler touch, but definitely wasn't really okay with it either. Ugh.

I worked at a doctor's office when pregnant (specializing in orthopedics, so no contagious diseases) and patients VERY often touched my belly. But the ones who touched it always said awesome things like "pregnant ladies are so beautiful, like you" or "you are glowing" or "congratulations! BABY!" and not hurtful things about size. The ones who didn't touch more often said judgmental things, so... I preferred the ones who touched the belly.

The people who felt him move were of course DH, mom, brother, sister, sister and my best friend.

Now that there's actually a belly to touch, I'm ok with it. Well, meaning only with people I know. I haven't had any strangers try so I'm very thankful for that. However, I would hate it when I would have people touch my stomach in the first trimester when I felt it was just my usual chub. And for some reason it was always my friends' husbands who did that. Not cool dudes.

I didn't really let people besides DH, but lots of people decided to help themselves, and I wasn't a big fan.
If a stranger went for it I don't know what I'd do. So awkward.
