...that name had potential for teasing/some kind of negative connotation?
My late grandmother's name is Jean, my last name is Simmons. I wanted to use Jean as a middle name.
Does what I'm worrying about automatically pop into your head too (and would it matter to you)? Or are you totally unaware of what I'm referring to? Do you think I'm over thinking this?

I would probably do a middle name. It would depend on whether LO's generation would even know the reference, and how much I wanted the name or wanted to honor that person. A first name would be difficult for me.
My husband's original girl name choice with our last name is a famous name from classical literature, so we won't be using that as a first name.

I'm hoping as a middle name it wouldn't make it as weird considering her middle name wouldn't be used all that often... but of course it's all I can think of since we realized it.

At least your gma's name is Jean and not Gene, right?!
Plus, I doubt kids these days even know who that is.

Middle name should be okay, I would think that 1) most young people won't know who he is & 2) most people don't know a person's middle name anyways. It has family meaning and I think taht is more important than the potential of some jokes.
